Murmur does rule, it gets more mixed after that, but always pretty darn good.
Today I realized I had a crippling weakness in my music repertoire, something that often comes with self-taught tutelage spanning many years, which can present difficulties that your methods bypass. Sometimes, a band just escapes, runs past a listener, in natural ways. You see, I have never listened to an album by REM or heard them on the radio beyond Losing My Religion the two or three times I've heard it in my life. I went right to what.cd and got the remastered deluxe editions of Murmur and Reckoning that came out in 2009 and made way an hour ago. I can say without a doubt after finishing Murmur's main CD that they kind of rule.
I'm sporadically revisiting stuff from the 60's, 70's and early 80's, pretty much everything (I already did that for much of the 80's while I was slogging through the 90's). So Steely Dan's third album and on are on the backburner atm. Some news though, I'm adding on Aja.
