And on Negima. I'm glad you've gotten into it. It's a great series that is constantly trying to improve itself which is always good. Honestly it's way too early to say how good the current arc will be but it's probably going to be good with the series track record.

And yeah give Shingeki no Kyojin a chance. I don't think I got all of my thoughts out in my last post due to the accursed 1000 character limit.

I would recommend a series called Shingeki no Kyojin. From what I've read this series is very promising. I know you've been trying to get into newer Shonen like Blue Exorcist and Nurarihyon but you weren't particularly satisfied with them.

Basically it's about a world where a race called "Titans" has killed half of all mankind and the remaining humans need to band together to stop it. I won't give too much a way but I will say that this series has shown itself to be rather daring and does a good job of delving into the minds of the soldiers.

It is in fact a Shonen but a very dark one I honestly couldn't believe it was a Shonen at first. It's as dark as Death Note and Claymore perhaps darker! It has been doing very well in Japan. It's one of the top 20 highest selling series in Japan despite being rather new. So definitely give it a chance because it's a very good series that sadly not many Westerners have gotten into yet, and I would like it if more would.

So you're on volume 27 of Negima eh? Good to know, how're you liking the series so far because now that you've gotten to the Magical World you've hit the pinacle of the series greatness (so far anyway).

And you got up to date with HSD Kenichi too. How is it? And when exactly does the series pick up in terms of quality because the four-ish volumes I read were kind of boring.

I've also gotten to the late 70's of chapters in Vagabond and the series is really starting to grow on me. Claymore is pretty good from the 3 volumes I've read too.

Why exactly did you like Claymore? I bought the first volume today and I'd like to know if the whole series is worth my time. I've read the first volume and it was all right but you know... first volume. Much appreciated.

Even if you don't like football it's still definitely worth looking into. It's actually quite a bit like One Piece and Gurren Lagann only about football as opposed to pirates and giant robots. Trust me I don't like football either and I still loved it in spite of that. I actually learned quite a bit about football from it. Like most series it takes about 5-10 volumes for it to find its footing as a series and mature into greatness but honestly the beginning of this series is actually better than the beginning of most other series I could name. So I would recommend you put this on your list of series to read. Maybe not high, but it's definitely worth checking out one of these days.

If you don't mind me asking, how many volumes/chapters of Soul Eater and Eyeshield 21 have you read? I didn't know that you were particularly familiar with either of those series but apparently you've read a significant amount of both. Both are very good series so I'd like to know where you are in them. Hope you can get back to me on that.

It's alright if you don't want to update your tier list until you're ready. I can wait.

I feel like maybe I shouldn't have ranked Eyeshield or Vinland until I'm finished with both of them but alas, both series accomplished what their respective demographics should. Eyeshield was very exciting and inspiring and Vinland was very complex and intriguing and in my opinion that's what Shonen and Seinen should be respectively. So I'd say they're both very successful in those regards. I also have the first giant volume of Akira that I bought at the book store although I'm not done with it yet. So far it's been interesting but I'm still waiting for it to become the comic book masterpiece it's frequently been heralded as.

By volume 15 the series gets pretty damn good, but the next 15 or so volumes are even better, trust me. I get why the series isn't for everyone and the harem/fanservice aspects would be turnoffs (they're turnoffs for me as well honestly) but it's a series that you can really enjoy if you get into it, because it just keeps topping itself and Akamatsu is really good at writing Battle Shonen.

I mostly put Toriko at only Good tier (which is still a high honor) because I don't like the characters that much as opposed to the other series that make the Better or Best tier. I find Shimabukurou's characterization a bit shallow. I mostly like Toriko for the action and worldbuilding as well as the art.
