I saw you digging on Car Bomb and Cobalt in the new song preference thread. I decided to let someone else have the fun of choosing between them (it would be a hard decision for me). I wanted to let you know that Cobalt are touring a little around end of may/beginning of june. Unfortunately I can't make it out to any of the dates, and I don't know if any of these are close to you, but it's a rare opportunity since the vocalist is normally on duty in the army overseas. Check it.

That one really depends on your tastes. SYL is much more extreme metal, while Devy's solo stuff is much proggier and more diverse. The latter is much more accessible, but, hell, I started with SYL and ended up fine. SYL is like this while Devin Townsend's other work is like this. If you want to take the SYL route, start with City. If you're going with Devin's name brand fare, Synchestra. I made a DT post in that music tier thread if you want to delve further.Let me know how you like his work! Devin Townsend has climbed his way to my top 3 musical writers/personalities along with Frank Zappa and John Darnielle.
