Yeah Japanese is a tricky language to learn. It's even harder to hang on to. I can usually understand a little Japanese if it's being spoken to me nowadays, but I've pretty much forgotten how to speak it. XD

9 months actually sounds like a perfect amount of time. I'd highly recommend looking around for exchange student organizations around you. It's really not as expensive as one might think.

I only had a rudimentary knowledge of Japanese. Like very basic. I could speak it somewhat but I was certainly not fluent. I couldn't read much either. But my stay was only a few weeks long, not entirely unlike the exchange student with me currently. Well with the exception that I had to go to school lol.

I'd strongly recommend finding an exchange program that would work out for you. From the looks of it I think you'll do well with English. The only thing I'd recommend you think about is how long you'd want to stay abroad.

Ah I understand. Part of the reason I'm switching colleges (in addition to sucking at my planned degree lol) was because I didn't have friends in class either. Good luck, I hope you get into the college you want with your friends.

Thanks! Being an exchange student is fun though. I spent some time in Japan as an exchange student, it was a blast. If you ever get the chance to be an exchange student, do so. I think you'd have a fun time in the states.

As for me, not a whole lot is up. I don't have friends left around here due to some going to college and some to various military branches. I'm doing a lot better than I was awhile back but I still miss the social interaction. I got an exchange student arriving tonight/tomorrow morning for 3 weeks so that'll be fun. I know how much fun it is to be an exchange student~

But yeah I'm doing okay.
