Zenigatas VAs are consistantly great particularly the Pioneer dub Zenigata from for example Mystery of Mamo hes 1000% pure awesome and his banter with Lupin is what makes the english dub so majorly awesome.

Well, at least Return of the Magician was finally good for something.

Speaking of hatless Jigen, I forgot to post about that. Here's another shot of him hatless from the second season of the anime. I'll try to remember to post any others I catch.

havent actualy ever seen it but ive heard of it sounds like it couldve been kinda fun if was pulled of right but im guessing it wasnt since its not still in production.

That was a canned project, and it wasn't even going to technically be an anime (as it was going to be made in France). The info's all on Wikipedia.

Bah. I think the Pioneer dub of Secret of Mamo is trash. The old "Mystery of Mamo" Streamline dub from '95 is godly, and has a far better voice cast and script, IMHO. Zenigata actually sounds like a grizzled cop rather than an obnoxious redneck and Bob Bergen's Lupin doesn't sound like he's going through puberty all the time, unlike Tony Oliver's. It's a shame that they couldn't get Bergen to dub over Lupin for the second TV series, but eh, what's done is done.

But anyway...

Streamline huh are they the ones who dubbed Castle of cagliostro ? and i cant relly place neither of the voice actors you mentioned think you could hook me up with a youtube clip of anything Lupin with those two in it ?

anyhow the Pioneer dub of Mamo and the tv series is in now way even close to trash its to this date my favorite dub ever, as i said before their dub team really got the Lupin vs Zenigata banter down just right,and the voices just fit em perfectly to me these guys ARE Lupin III(and co)^^

Yeah, the Pioneer dub is great, but so are the two dubs I've seen.

As for Harimao's Treasure KaizokuFan, I have it, but it's not the greatest movie. Still worth a watch, but nothing spectacular. Of all the Funi Lupin movies I've seen, I've taken a great liking to Farewell to Nostradamus.

Is Farewell to Nostradamus the one with crossdressing Zenigata? I've heard of it, but I've never watched it.

I just really disliked Secret of Mamo. Like, everything about it.

Farewell to Nostradamus was actually my first exposure to Lupin (the fansub I watched called it 'Die Nostradamus Die', which I sort of prefer just for the B-movie quality) and I recently rented it again and I really enjoyed it.

Lupin is one of the rare shows whose dub I actually like, both of the dubs, actually. I can watch it either way and be perfectly happy, which literally never happens with anime.

Harmonia's Treasure is one of my least favorite of the Lupin ventures, there were only two things I enjoyed about it. I also really didn't care for Secret of the Twilight Gemini and that more recent one whose name escapes me, the one in Greece with the harmonics stuff. Yeeaaaah.

But yeah, Lupin's up there as one of my long-term standbys of things I enjoyed in the day and still consistently enjoy now, which is a depressingly short list. I need to get more manga, Monkey Punch makes me laugh.
