Just now I came up with a theory how BB is able to consume multiple DFs. Dunno if someone already came up with this but whatever, too lazy to read whole thread.

So my theory is based on mythical zoan Df Cerberus, that BB ate long time ago. As we know BB's flag has three skulls and cerberus would explain that quite nicely. Also the scar that BB gave to Shanks could be from swipe of cerberus claws. Mythical Zoan Df would also explain how did BB have the power to fight against Younko caliber man.

So the idea of consuming three devil fruits is based on this cerberus df. Three heads, three different person, are able to consume three different devil fruits. Also this would explain why marco said that BB has somehow abnormal body.

I know this theory is quite far-fetched and it does have many weak points. I doubt it's not gonna happen but it would be kinda neat.

I like this theory, not agreeing it would happen, but if it did, would be kinda cool...

it sounds good to me but then the WB pirates would already know he has 2 fruits even before he got the eathquake one, then not be that surprise he get a third one

About BB, he probably won't have 3 DF fruits, he doesn't have a freaking second body inside him.

What I think is the reason he wanted WB fruit was to have the ultimate fruit. He knows of the Darkness fruit and allows him to acquire another fruit (it will be explained later) what I think he did to acquire it was to consume it from WB dead body (the victim probably needs to be dead) and he extracts the power (not the fruit, but the actual power it has , if you can remember how BB sucked up that town, and spit it back out, possibly that only it's a more permanent thing) he could have just extracted the fruit too. About the blanket, I think it was just used to cover what BB did , like a way to make sure the power couldn't leave WB body.

About the 3 skulls in his flag, it simply means the 3 people he brought about the death of. Ace, Thatch, and Whitebeard. Or, if we take Thatch out of the equation and replace it with someone who might challenge him in this war, like Garp, and he kills him (I rather this not happen) then it would mean 3 people who have died with the intervention of BB that were close to Luffy. I'm not really in total agreement with this, but just giving another theory.

About the 3 fruit thing, sure, it would be kinda interesting to see, but I think two fruits is enough. The series would be about whoever has the most fruits, wins. The guys who don't have fruits, like Shanks, wouldn't seem that powerful anymore. It wouldn't be about growing with your fruit, but getting more fruits.

I think it's good enough having BB with 2 fruits, anything more would be overkill and no more fun

He also did Phoenix in Enies Lobby, but we still got Marco.

I like how Smigu's theory leads up to BB having one of each; Zoan, Paramecia and Logia.

I gues that depends on the translation. I saw one wher he said you are not one of them. But anyway I wouldn't be surprsied if Whitebeard also mean that he doesn't see the true spirit of a D in Blackbeard.

Yes! I was already aiming for the Sea Devil as final enemy, and now Blackbeard has the potential of "becoming" him. (The Sea Devil = The source of all devil fruits according to early chapters)

Same here. I don't like the development, but good things may come from it. I just hope Luffy (or any other) don't get a second DF, though there's probably people wishing for him to get Ace's fruit...
