FFA phenomenal is right, Oda uses the strong characters as a way of telling you facts in the story. Don't forget Mihawk said the marine HQ and shichibukai are 2 groups of conflicting power.

Also Garp said "only the WG and shichibukai can withstand their might" When characters like these say something it is quite a credible source.

I'm ignoring it because it's irrelevant. Until an actual swords smith says that "THIS IS THE WORLD'S STRONGEST SWORD", then it's not canon.

Mihawk's sword is the strongest spiritually. That's what he meant. It's not the actual best sword in the world. And there is no way you can disprove that.

You obviously need to reread the damn Hatchi vs. Zoro fight. Hatchi's swords were heavier physically and probably stronger swords, but Zoro's swords were heavier spiritually.
