This chapter wins. It was freakin' great. I love Robin~<3! I love that she can only fly for 5 seconds. lol. Robin and Franky team up is pure pwnage too. And Absolom is better than ever.

Best part about the chapter was the ending though...Brooke is back.

    Brooke=BigWin.

He's panicked and he has scars, I dunno if that's him. :\
I thought that was Pandaman's grave we saw earlier. What manner of conspiracy is this? Either there's a tribe of Pandamen somewhere or he can even escape from his own death somehow.

Brook seems like a weird guy (apart from him not having flesh) because the zombie that has his shadow uses a sword while there's no indication Brook has any type of blade on him at all. Dogpen and Jigoroh use Sanji and Zoro's fighting styles respectively.

Well, the old man who had his shadow stolen was able to follow Luffy and the others... so yes.

He had his shadow stolen? I didn't notice.

But I guess that means the three of them are locked away somewhere. Question is where.

Yeah, that was the reason he asked them to defeat Moria.

Not a whole lot of surprises this chapter, but it still made my day. The Lola and Absolom bits were hilarious! Robin's new attack and Brooke falling from the sky were completely unexpected.
    Rappin' Chopper:

"Yo; I was a reindeer livin' out in 'da snow! But then this old geeza' doctor brought me into his home! After healin' my wounds, I felt real phat. Then, old docta' Hiruk gave me this blingin' hat! My family beat me, shunt me, but it's all tight. Because I'm doin' my doctor remedies all night. I look like freak with my Human Human fruit. But now I'm with some gangsta' pirates who like to steal loot! All the girls like my blue nose. Yeah; it's the way that I get the *Record scratching*. Usopp's the guy with all 'da glory. He's my main man with all his tight stories. Zolo's Santoryu skills are on ice. You betta' watch out, or you gonna get sliced! Sanji's the cook servin' up the main dish. Don't mess with him, unless that's your wish. Luffy's 'da captain with the straw hat! His Gum Gum skills are real real tight. Vivi's the princess of Alabasta. Now we gotta head there, and we betta' do it faster!"

His body surely can't fully perform those skills.
I think the point is that despite having little strength, low endurance, and tiny little legs, the amazing efficiency of power behind the fancy kicking techniques that sanji learned from Zeff is enough to make dogpeng fight at the level of the general zombies.

If you add sanji's strength to the equation, then the general zombies shouldn't be much of a threat (one on one anyways). This is a good thing because we can assume that absalom, perona, and some of the more interesting general zombies are going to be fighting well above the average GZ level as well.

@polygon: the way that I currently understand the situation is that the zombie gains the personality, mannerisms, morals, fighting techniques, and voice from whoever's shadow was stolen to create them. However, this does not mean that they lose whatever experiences that they have from their previous life.

So because Ryuma was a swordsman in his previous life, we don't have to assume that brooke is a swordsman in this one. A dogpenguin doesn't really have any fighting techniques left over from his previous life, so he only had sanji's to draw from. We should also expect Jigorou to have a couple of "old man" themed sword attacks. But since Zoro's attacks will likely be stronger, he should mostly stick to them.

now that its set up this way a Franky / Robin / Brooke Triple team against Moria would be win on so many levels, while Nami Ussop and Chopper handle the rest.

Well Hogback and the others did show interest in their bounties so why would they allow them to wander around and cause trouble or possibly get vaporized before they can turn them in?

Hahah! Dog-pen's shadow wasn't stolen from Sanji, it was stolen from Neil Young! (Sorry, I couldn't resist)

    Ahem.
    Anyways ...

Lola is giving me a strong Disney vibe. I can't quite place it, but something like a cross between a dancing hippo (from Fantasia), Clucky (from Robin Hood) and who knows what all else. She's got quite an arsenal at her disposal : Valkrye girdle armor, a huge axe, two lethal looking katana (oh, but I don't think those swords are Zoro's though -- the hilts are different) but still, I get this sinking feeling that -- ah, nevermind.

Cool "thunder charge" move from Nami! And I like her speech about how she "doesn't keep her body in shape just so perverted beasts can smugly peep" (nice alliteration) Her comment to Lola -- that Natli already mentioned -- is a lot of fun, too. And I'm in agreement with Natli about Robin's flying. I'm having a hard time buying it, even though it looks pretty on paper. Excellent image of the two of them where Franky does his Strong Right (great perspective on the round building)
Franky and Robin make a fun team. Good chemistry.

Oh, for the person who wondered where Luffy, Sanji and Zoro went -- Taleran answers it on page 12 : "all three were captured and brought behind this wall". So it looks like it's safe to assume that Luffy's shadow is not inside Taleran after all, since Taleran appears to be talking about Luffy in the third person, not the first. It's probably also safe to assume that behind that wall are a lot of shadowless individuals who need saving. Good thing Robin and Franky (and Brook?) are headed that way.

boiga -- I like your idea about Brook's attempt to sabatoge Thriller Bark by messing with the mast/sail. My guess is he's trying to change the course of the ship. Or maybe he'll create a diversion by having the sail fall down upon the buildings beneath it?

And still no word from Moria. Hmm.

[thanks to BF and the translationmobile and all others who brought us this chapter. Cheers!]

    I never noticed that.

I know it's a strange thought but do you folks ever thought that Absalom's powers may not be from DF? What if he's psychic?
