Anybody else playing P4 Arena? What're your impressions so far? cos I'm lovin' it.

It's real good. I don't take a lot of 2D/Anime fighters seriously but this one has something to it. Art, music, presentation, mechanics are a go for me.

Went to a tournament last week, it was packed as hell for this game.

I just got this game, holy crap. This game is complicated as balls.

I don't know when to do any of these new mechanics in actual combat... I gotta watch some combo videos...

But I'm maining the Prince of Junes... His face when Jiraiya shoots the gas blast kills me every time.

Also.... do the lines change for each character when they fight another person? Gotta experiment and try that out. So far all I know is Yosuke and Teddie have lines together.

And Teddie's new voice isn't bad... I don't know what all the complaining is about.

They do. There's a lot of personalized lines in there.

Have Kanji go up against Akihiko for a cute pre-fight line. Then have Kanji win for some amazing post-fight dialogue.

It's confirmed. P4Arena's story is canon. It also doesn't seem to make any references to the golden specific events so no worries in that regard.

I hope the EU amazon release date is right which is 7th of september.
Just the right amount of time to finish P4Golden and jumping in with the story fresh in mind.

Currently shooting for the platinum man the quiz trophy makes my head spin just beat the first of supposedly three quiz rounds, with a 1 point lead.
I'm in september right now so I'm familiar with all the new systems I think so if there is any interest for some of the new systems (like the new card drawing), ask away.

After I finish I'll leave a small list of mistaggings of mine for the app (since you can't delete tags anymore if you don't have the rights, rightfully so).

Funny you posted that, I just got a call from a buddy over at GameStop about that and I just switched my preorder of P4: Golden over to the Premium edition.

Just freaking finished this monster of a game... 115 hours clocked doing a full social link run getting almost all the trophies. Still missing one bronze where you have to listen to 250 comments of rise(which I have no idea how to get about) and the secret battle that you get in new game + and of course the platinum itself. Like Morrowind tremendously improved my english, this game will be the one I'll fondly remember for upgrading my japanese skills :P and I'm glad that it was this game.
That ending when everyone is encouraging you if you have all the links maxed is just effing sweet. I thought the added content was very substantial although you'll only get to see most of the new stuff at halfpoint.

A little exhausted but I kind of still look forward to a risky completionist playthrough.

But yeah I'm ready for arena because I could use a little variety, I hope we'll get a release for this soon in europe...

I'm of the school that if you really need to use something stupid like a score system you better make use of all the numbers so a 10 doesn't mean perfect.
But in especially persona 4's case this is as good as it's going to get turnbased style combat jrpg wise(or in my opinion straightup jrpg wise for now and the foreseeable future, kind of a sad statement really for jrpgs).

Yey it's out for the US, happy for you guys. Looking forward to have some discussion or rather irrational praise showering on the game :)...
Anyone here aiming for the platinum? It's pretty long, and you really want to get some things out of the way as soon as possible and you want to avoid thing like taking on the second dungeons bosses when you haven't recruited rise yet.
