Certainly not how the manga is going to end, what enemies the SH's will encounter and all the other stuff a serious storywriter wouldn't spoil for his readers.

Is the G8 Marine base used in the anime canon and how did Jonathan and Akainu meet back then?

Well i mean, there's no question it will, one way or the other, and one piece is one of thoose few things that I don't want to be spoiled on. Plus Ace's death was a the only definite death that didn't occur in a flashback and didn't occur because the character was evil.
