The World Ends With You

I don't know if this has been posted before. If so, I'm sorry. But I found out earlier this week that a game called "The World Ends With You" is coming out on the 23rd. I was thinking of buying it, but I'm not really sure. I mean, it is $40. So I thought I would ask for your opinion on it.

Looks interesting. When I read the opening description, it reminded me of this anime I read where these 11 people have cell phones that tell them how events are going to play out, and only one of those people (Yuki, the main character) has the power to change that fate.

I caught wind of this in the latest EGM. They gave it some good marks, and it did look pretty interesting. And I do have some Best Buy cupins', and a tax return.....I'll have to pick it up when it comes out.

How's the battle system on this thing? From what I've read, it looks really confusing, which is the only thing I was worried about. Other than that, it looks good.

From what I've heard it's really complicated at first. But you get used to it. You can control two characters at a time. One's on the top screen while Neku is in the lower screen. You control Neku with the stylus while you control the other character with the D-pad. Kind of like DDR. And if you do the right moves with both of them, you'll be able to get a special move. That's what I got from the video I saw. I hope that made sense. ^^;

P.S. I already pre-ordered the game. XD

Yeah I thought it was a different game when I first saw it with the new title. They just retitled it. I think it kinda fits.

turn into:

The World Ends With You

I've been looking forward to this game since way back when it was first announced for Japan. Of all the Square-Enix games I thought this one had the least chance of getting localized, what with its very close ties to modern Japanese culture and all, so it's an awesome surprise to see this game in English. Unlike most people I like Nomura's designs, and when I first saw this game I was overcome with its stylishness. Its great that it's getting good reviews too!

Same could be said for Kingdom Hearts. That's pretty girlish sounding, but people bought it right up.

I don't think "Kingdom Hearts" sounds girlish, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, I think that the new name does kind of fit with the game. =/

Anyway, the only thing I don't like is that they changed the song. -__-

That's a different situation, because that game had both a large amount of pre-release press/hype, and the disney element that made it easier to market as-is. This is just another game, here, so they need to sell it.

Also, anyone know when the soundtrack comes out? I'd like to check it out, and maybe add it to my collection.
