Ehhhhhh, I tried, and don't want to update my snow leopard, way to lazy. Photoshop is pretty much free..I just suck at coloring. I'm trying to do page 2 of A severed head..Just isn't working.

This is my first ever colouring in gimp, took me about an hour and a half. Hope you guys like it, I had alot of fun figuring stuff out.

Never seen a free Photoshop ... unless its already on a comp lol

Besides gimp, another free download is Paint.Net, it doesn't have the smudge tool that gimp has, but I usually find it easier to color in Paint.net than in gimp, and then either use Paint.net's render->clouds and/or gimp's smudge for effects.

I just have a working serial number for PS, Paint.net and Gimp don't work for some reason. I go back and forth between PS and Pixelmator (Pretty much Photoshop), while trying to get Flash to work, it's easier to colour/draw in.

Did this is Pixelmator, still have a ways to go before i can actually colour stuff properly.

i like your color choice, but you painted yellow his mask, maybe you thought his face has 3 face parts and two mask parts? it´s just him quickly moving his face ^^

SHIT! I thought he had like 3 separate faces, hence the blue, red and yellow..Didn't notice his small figure in the next frame...I'm a moron. aha. Thanks though!

Dude I know that feel. I get very bored with my drawings if I spend too much time on them and feel like I tend to go overboard if I do. I'm gonna work on another page, I had a lot of fun doing the Diable jump collier shoot

Guys, recently I got my hands on Photoshop CS5. Anyone knows a good way for colouring? So far I've been trying to select some parts with magnetic lasso and putting that on a new layer, than colouring with that Hud/saturation thingy. Is there a better way? Should I lineart? And how do I do that if needed? Thanks in advance o/

i was re coloring the original manga panels before but now i work with line art then re coloring

here is my trick :

Hidden:

sorry kinda long way... ,sure there is another fast ways but this way i discovered it by myself
original panel :


-ctrl+L and play in midtone input level i make it 1.44


-make layer via copy "ctrl+J" then ctrl+U and play in lightness i make it 44



-change the blend mode to the layer1 copy to overlay



-make merge visible then go to channels and hold ctrl+ left click on RGB ..... it will select all white parts then press delete on keyboard



- double click on layer and go to stroke then change position to inside



- finally the panel is now like lineart
make the panel lineart in top
then color layers then white bg to get a good vision to the lineart "if u want "

hello there (LP) got some links on how to colo and line art step by step, when i first started, i had to do a lot of research and finding TUT's, anyway i hope these help, anyone can use them by the way am not the one, who made this TUT's it's was done by someone name undying-sama so credit goes to him.

ohh i definetly recommend you make your own lineart, it makes the colo more complete imo.
