Bakuman

Wow, this is pretty damn good. Beyond the premise I couldn't really get into "Death Note", but depending on whether or not this series goes towards lots of droning dialogue (why I lost interest in "Death Note") I could really get hooked on this. This is the first series of its kind that I can think that's based around the experiences of "average kids", rather than a story targeted squarely at the otaku crowd. I expect this series to get picked up by VIZ Media fairly quickly.

That was pretty good. It's a fun concept, and it wasn't until when they wen to the girl's house that I really got excited.

I loved the speech about dreams and not living a boring life, as well as the hilarious marriage deal. Both are incredibly romantic, and all the series I enjoy alot tend to have that romantic live your dreams and never give up on them theme (One Piece, Eyeshield, etc.) so this series is definately one I'll follow.

And the best thing about it is that it has so much potential to go in so many different directions. This could easily be a story that lasts for years and years.

You're confusing the weeks that the magazine comes out because its contents always get leaked online a few days before it actually shows up on newsstands. To clarify: there was an issue of Jump out this week; it was the one that had the first chapter of Bakuman in it. Next week, there will not (to my knowledge) be an issue of the magazine, thus no Friday leak this week. However, the issue coming out the Monday after next may get leaked slightly earlier, as sometimes happens after a break (either the issue gets to subscribers early or the scanners get antsy).

I like this new manga, it's really funny, and not to mention informational (the part w/ Moritaka showing those graphs were interesting)...plus I was waiting for a manga like this to come out (I know only of 2 others: Dramacon, which is an American manga, and Genshiken, which isn't exactly like this one though)

Well, if you are interested in reading comics with similar subject then are G Senjou Heaven's Door and Super Cruel and Terrible Tales of Mangaka. Neither of those are shonen tho and both are quick reads. But Super Cruel is super golden and G Senjou is pretty neat. I know there should be couple others too but I haven't read 'em and I don't remember the names anyway. I think one had a name which went like "Editor King" or something...


But about this. I liked Bakuman, it was good fun. I will keep reading it. But wait. Bakuman, why was is called that again?

Bakuman="Bakuhatsu Manga(Explosive Manga)."Means that the manga those two protagonist make will be explosive or become a booming.
