Gintama is seriously in the top 5, if not top 3, currently running Jump series.

When I can read it.


I keep on forgetting it exists, because it isn't in my "weekly updates" mental folder. but when I see new chapters... goddamn. good shit.

Could someone please tell me where I can find the earlier chapters of Gintama? I was reading on Mangareader, but a lot of chapters are missing.

Try mangahere, it has chapters that was deleted on other manga sites. Most of the missing chapters are from Viz scans, so they got deleted...
I'm guessing mangahere isn't popular enough to warrant such attention lol.

Well, it's my 2nd favourite manga in JUMP, and is my favourite comedy manga!
The large number of missing chapters seems to make people put hold from reading this manga though.

Luckily, it seems that all the attention that Gintama has been getting means that there is a chance we'll get regular chapters.

Well, it's not like I'm not trying. I've been translation checking and editing like 4-5 chapters a week. On top of scanning it and organizing a group to get people to typset it and clean it so we can catch up to the current chapters. But there's a massive amount of text and it takes a very long time to do.

I can't image how difficult it is to translate Gintama.

With the amount of wordplay, cultural references and general nonsensical stuff.
It must be a nightmare.

Truth, I'm very thankful of the scanlator's dedication to keeping Gintama just as punny as usual.
Just to continue the discussion, can anyone imagine Gintama ending?

Gintama is one of those series that can really go on forever like Kochikame.

lol if that really happen. Also, the idiot Zura will be appearing in Shogun's ski trip arc in volume 40, and volume 41 cover the Elizabeth arc, so he'll have much screen time until then. (more like, when is Sakamoto gonna show up again?!)

Sakamoto is one of the my favorite characters.
Too bad that the last time he appeard was during the 2nd or 3rd season of the anime.

At least, he is going to be on the Elizabeth arc.

Yeah. I always wondered why Sakamoto was always featured in the openings and endings even though he almost never actually appeared in the series. I don't know, maybe the anime staff just likes him for some reason. I know he did fairly well in the popularity polls despite being really a minor character when you get right down to it. I wasn't crazy about him, but I had nothing against him either. Maybe if we spent more time with him I would have liked him more.

The reason that Sakamoto is in the OP/ED a lot of the time probably has to do with the fact that he, Gintoki, Katsura, and Takasugi are the 'main 4' of the war when they were fighting the Amanto. Though Gintoki might not admit it, those bonds are really important to him (especially since he decided to END Takasugi's life and plan should he ever attempt it).

Well, either that or there's just the fact that he lived in space (though, Umibouzu still has more screen time than Sakamoto lol). Last time he appeared, it's pretty much a cameo.

BTW, The new episode is Gintama X Sket Dance crossover. It was really great! They added lots of extras and manage to fill one chapter for one episode.
Gintama's the only anime that I wouldn't mind having one chapter per episode. Props to the anime staff for rocking the episode!

That was pretty good. The Gintama x Sket Dance crossover ripped off the Toriko x One Piece crossover.
It actually wasn't an adaptation to the manga crossover, but it was still really good.

It's not the best opening in Gintama, but I think it's very nice.

I don't know why its not known enough, its got comedy and action and every thing some one should be looking for in an manga. I missed a couple of chapters, has a new arc started up yet? New villain? Thanks.
