I know that the trailer makes it seem like Bubblegum was melted thanks to the Lich but...this is going to be insane.

And nice to hear that NPH is Prince Gumball...though now I wonder if/who would end up being Marshall Lee if he shows up. (unless they save it for another gender-bending episode.)

I doubt they will plan another gender-bending episode. I believe they said most of the main cast's opposite sex will appear in the episode (Ice queen, Marshall Lee). But if they did make another episode, I would love it.

In other news, get ready for the two parter on monday. It's going to be spilling out epic.

I think the Lich King episodes may have been the victim of being over-hyped. It was good, but I can't say it was my favorite episode or anything. The fight was actually kind of underwhelming. The fact that the two episodes were plot connected was cool though and I did enjoy the ending. It was cute.

I did like it but I guess I sort of expected more of it too. The bits homaging the "Exorcist" were interesting, though.

And the ending...well, something tells me it's another one of those "cartoon endings which will be forgotten tomorrow" ordeals...unless Bubblegum stays that way.

I feel the same way. At the end I felt like I had just watched a regular episode but a little empty. The timing of things seemed outta place and the fight with the Lich was kinda funny but mostly mediocre except Finn ripping the top half of his skull off. The Ice King was kinda annoying and his role in the story seemed tacked on. It wasn't super awful but it's wasn't great either.

I really enjoyed the two parter because it really adds another element to the series; the element of serious plotting. While the special still did have humor and innuendo, the story had a much darker tone, which brought a lot of the characters out of their comfort zones (besides the Ice King, who's in his own little world). It definitely was overhyped and the writing could have been a bit tighter, but it was still a fantastic episode in my mind.

I really liked the special. Some absolutely great moments, like Jake peeping on Bubblegum, the Ice King's "crazy crazy crazy" vision, Finn being "An angry cat! And angry agile cat! Meow, Ice King!" made me laugh quite a bit.

and also, good lord, the Lich's laugh when Finn's flossing his eyesockets? TOP TIER.

I've recently been possessed of a need to see a Adventure Time/ Wizard of Oz crossover. I've already started drawing pictures >_< (Lich would be big scary Oz head. but who should be "behind the curtain"? The snail or BMO?)
