Yea they is middle schooler. I like both the anime and manga I just wish the American Vol's wouldnt take that long to translate :<
As it is with all longer-running shonen, the animation quality is often incredibly bad. Episode 5, when Hibari is introduced, is practically a meme in the Reborn! fandom because of how terrible it looked. (Gowadera has the character for "goku" replaced with the ones for "five" and "episode"; whenever Gokudera has a QUALITY face it's mentioned.)
But yeah, I was exaggerating a little. The voices range from okay to great, except since a lot of them are pretty new to the voice acting world, the beginning episodes lack a little something. The little edits certainly aren't on the level of American censoring (except when they cut out a character's entire backstory because it was too violent for morning television). The pacing for the Daily Life episodes isn't very good, but the more action-y arcs make up for it. The bits of filler material they put in here and there are sometimes unbearable but sometimes funny. Overally, it's...decent, bordering on mediocre. The Kokuyo arc was good, the Daily Life not so good, and the Varia arc is okay so far (except that there's very little blood; I guess after Kokuyo some parents saw fit to complain).
Except for the animation. Undoubtedly the quality level in an episode will decrease dramatically in the later half. Amano (the author) has a really nice style in the later story arcs, so it's almost painful to see the kind of QUALITY Artland puts out.
Gah, just read up to chapter 111, and I've revaluated my opinion on certain characters in the series. Gokudera is now cool, and Yamamoto is "generic lame". I really loved the Guardian of Storm fight, as it was really creative and shit, while the Battle of Rain or whatever pretty much looks exactly like generic swordsfight # 5. Looking forward to the Mukuro fight.

Yamamoto is awesome. I think water added into swordsmanship is pretty creative. And him being a baseball player makes it more believable.
Lambo is still my favorite guardian. The guardian of lightning is one who must take all the damage for the boss. Badass.
Gokudera is pretty cool. His fight was sorta lame though, since he wound up not winning.
Hibari's fight was way way too one sided, but I guess it's just to hype him up even further for the Millefore Arc.
Only ones I don't like are Mukuro and Ryohei.
BTW, Boys & Girls (Opening 2 in the anime) makes the Varia arc so much more great. It's like the BRAND NEW WORLD of Reborn!
Thankfully, the Millefore arc seems to be wrapping up with the training over, so all we have left are the fights, which will hopefully be just as great as the Varia's.
Ryohei would be fine if he was the GAR of the show, but he's just annoying. I even skipped over his fight in the manga (Lussuria was pretty gay looking too.)
Mukuro just had no reason to be brought back. I would have rather had some random guy being the mist then a lame-o who possesses a little girl.
Mukuro's fate was very open-ended at the end of Kokuyo. It'd be bad storytelling if he wasn't brought back somehow, or if a random guy was the guardian--they're supposed to be associated with Tsuna in some way. All this buildup on a major arc villain-turned-anti-hero and he just poofs into thin air? (Plus he's incredibly popular in Japan; won the antagonist poll by a giant landslide.) And no more Mukuro means no more pineapple jokes...
Lussuria isn't just gay looking, he is gay. (But then so is more than half the cast, jeez.)
And I thought that Gokudera losing was better than him winning. It developed his character more (the whole "I couldn't see my own life" thing) as well as Tsuna's, and put more at stake in the upcoming Ring battles. And Gokudera's supposed to be the jobber of the series. He tries so, so, so hard to be cool but just ends up failing. Somehow Amano makes it work in Gokudera's favor, though (unlike, say, Renji).
The exposition in the Future/Millefiore arc seems far from over for me, though. We still have to reintroduce some major players--Ryohei (he is GAR, dammit), Mukuro/Chrome, Dino, the Varia, etc. Hibari still needs to be switched. Yamamoto, Gokudera, and Lambo need to start training.
How could you not like Mukuro? No reason to be brought back? He got more fucking votes than Tsuna in the popularity poll! (Though to be fair in entirely different categories, one could say Mukuro had less competition in his) Also, as RoastBeef said, it was heavily hinted at the end of the Kokuyo arc that Mukuro would return. Plus, he is awesome, in fact the only awesome character aside from Calm Will Tsuna to come out of the Kokuyo arc. And Gokudera's fight was not lame. He fucking spread gunpowder on the floor and blew up the strings around him! His dynamites are now miniature rockets! Ahhhhhhhh! I'm so hyper!

Looking back on the Cloud fight and the subsequent chapters, Xanxus didn't care if Gola Mosca won the battle or not, despite what he promised. Sure, Hibari is inhumanly powerful for a scrawny teenager, but Mosca wasn't going all out, as it were.
(Related tangent on Xanxus: he's such a little kid. His anger management skills are on par with Lambo's, if not worse. Petulant, bratty, sulking, moody, arrogant, and a major dickheadwho just wanted to be loved by his papan. He's great. I love how Amano fleshes out the villains, too.)
I liked the Rain battle a lot (backstory on major antagonists? yes please), but I can't help but think that there aren't going to be a lot of situations where there's going to water fucking everywhere for a Shiguren Souen-user to utilize. (And you know Xanxus got that shark just for Squalo. RUN AWAY SQUALO YOU'RE IN AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP)Yamamoto is awesome. I think water added into swordsmanship is pretty creative. And him being a baseball player makes it more believable.
(Another related tangent: when are we going to see future versions of the Varia/other adults, dammit? In action--a colorspread, while exciting, can't cut it after weeks of suspense. How does Yamamoto know one of Squalo's techniques? What happened to Xanxus? Is he growing his bangs out to hide a receding hairline? What's up with his Dying Will Flame? Has Dino been taken away by the 4chan Party Van for hanging out with middle-school boys too much? How come Belphegor was accepted into the Varia despite having a crippling mental defect incredibly relevant to the job? Is Shamal still gross or what? THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS THAT MUST BE ASKED)
Yes. I am bored, and I just wanted to introduce some talking points. Or something.
P.S.: There aren't any serviceable illusionists besides Mukuro that Tsuna's side could use as Mist guardian. And the guy chose Kokuyo as his headquarters based on their stylish uniform, how could you not like a guy like that? Ken and Chikusa's reintroduction to the story was hilarious (already a middle schooler and you still swallow your gum, Ken?).
Maybe I should reread or watch the Mukoro arc again. I'm glad S^3 is getting to the Mist fight though, because I think I overlooked it in the RAWs.
I'm not really interested in seeing the Future Varia, probably cause they don't look much different, like Hibari. Maybe Squalo cut his hair again :] Chapter 113 was pretty good though, Chrome Dukoro is pretty epic. Italian = win.
Regarding Squalo:Spoiler:
On Xanxus and wrath:Spoiler:
That's because the author seems reluctant to fully reveal how strong he is, kind of like Oda and the Sanji vs. Zoro issue. There're a lot of vague terms thrown around about how he has "limitless potential" or how he's "the strongest of the guardians".
Edit: okay "strongest" isn't exactly a vague term to use ehehe
Mist fight has been scanlated, I liked it. And Mukuro is pretty cool I suppose. Now I should go back and read the Sun fight and see if I like Ryohei. Cause I don't remember reading it cause it wasn't scanlated.
I'm so happy that the series is finally getting scanned, I really hope for Reborn! and D. Grey Man to make it into the Shonen trio once Bleach and Naruto are over with. Reborn! will hopefully make it into Naruto's spot, since it seems to be wrapping up.
Sorry for the double post, but Cosa Nostra just released volume 14 and 15! Now we just have to wait for Bushido or Cosa Nostra to finish up the Millefore arc!
can anyone give me a link to the future/millefore arc i really want to read it
Man, is Marmon awesome. The combination of being greedy, manipulative and arrogant plus being a baby and all just blows my mind with its awesomeness.
STICKY PICTURE! And the Arcobalenos power is once again hinted at, and it seems pretty fuckin' powerful. Does Collonello show up in the future arc?

I think he's dead, but Lal Milch plays a pretty big part, and she trained Colonello, so we get a pic of him in the future
No shit? He's dead? That is pretty fucking sad.
Just finished reading the Vongola arc, and the whole match with Xanxus was rock solid throughout. Actually, the whole Vongola arc was plenty enjoyable, with my personal favorite being the Storm battle. I was surprised at the amount of drama near the end, and the little twists and turns that kept coming. The only thing I'm confused about is who freed Xanxus from his "sleep". Also, Hibari actually gets injured by someone other than the main villain! OMG!
