Eh doesn't look too bad so far. If it because it too "action-y over horror" then your just being difficult.

It looks fucking awesome.
The survival horror complaint is old. Lament the loss of the genre by playing games like Amnesia or Dead Space 1. Which rock and are scary.
The RE story has culminated to this. Bio terror on a global scale with all the major players in place (where's Jill though? >.<)
Action sequences aside, the main gameplay looks like it's advanced RE4's combat in the right direction. Rolling under an attack and laying on your back blasting away is cool.
It just seemed... uninspired.
Ada is sure looking good at 39...
She is probably the only real good thing about this trailer.
Some settings are good and some less. I did like the plane setting. However, the action sequences (explosions non stop) are just plain dumb and stupid meant to satisfy the COD fans. It sure looks scary sarcasm.
Resident Evil is dead long live Residen Evil.
Uninspired indeed...

Bot.
Oh thank god, cause when I read the post, I was seriously fucking confused. I was worried for that person's mental health! (Dead serious.)
I forgot to say Ada Wong looks bloody gorgeous in the new trailer. The red shirt and pants look so much better than the purple dress and red scarf. Seriously, who designed that crap.
I'm in a good mood.
Someone call whine-one-one.
They are good points, nitpicky, but points.
True but like you said nitpicky.
I don't really think this guy has this issue, but it really gets frustrating sometimes upon how people judge these games. It's the same issue I get with SpoonyOne and Zelda games. Like, I've never been a Zelda fan. I respect Zelda, but the games never kept my interest. Wind Waker is probably the only exception. But I'm not about to look at Zelda, and be like: "Be more like Fire Emblem". No. Zelda just...isn't my thing.
I'm willing to accept the changes made to Resident Evil, cause honestly, these changes ARE for the best. And Resident Evil 6 is being generous enough to actually include horror elements and throwbacks to the old games. I know I've said in the past that I feel like I'm being left behind, but that's pretty shitty of me.
The guy has a good point. RE6 really does feel like it has no idea what it wants to be. However, I kind of see that as a good thing and bad thing. On one hand, they're trying to dip their feet in fan reaction and sales, trying to see what gameplay style is generally preferred. However, this isn't the way to do it. This could make the game pretty shitty (especially once Chris and Leon team up.....oh you fucking know they will in at least one chapter). If anything, they should stick with one, and make spin off games with the other. Make the main game series an action series, and make horror spin-offs. Resident Evil: Revelations did a good job using horror. Just spit the series, and see what's more successful.
My main gripe came from the author's last paragraph. Yeah, he made good points, but the whole "I've never really gotten Resident Evil" deal makes me curious as to why he's making these complaints in the first place.
The real question is: What made RE so successful and popular in the first place ? My experience or answer is that it was scary. To defend the use of the bad cameras I will quote the great Red letter Media: "Framing, blocking, character placement, lighting on the set, camera movement. Its all part of making a movie". Its just as valid when you are making a horror game in order to make the gamer feel a specific way. For instance, I am always tensed when I enter a room when I hear the zombies or unhuman footsteps but I can't see them which is an obvious reference to the 1978 Halloween ending. Basically you could hear Mike Myers breathing but you couldn't see him and we are seeing every places of the film in order to imply that he is everyhere and nowhere at the same sorta like death itself... You don't feel safe and you are forever haunted. As RLM said "some basic image or moment can haunt you"
Today, RE6 tries too please too many types of player and the result is aweful. So much for the generes of gaming if everyone tries to be call of duty.
The beginning of Leon's campaign.
More demos. Capcom ain't being sigh showing this installment off.
For those who bought Dragon's Dogma on the 360, you can now download and play the RE6 demo. Sadly it's just the three demos showed off by Capcom at E3 (Leon at the University, Chris on the rooftops, and Jake running from and fighting the B.O.W.) which was expected, I guess.
Just played through the long demo and got some bad news.
You're superhuman in RE6. The running speed in 4 and 5 is now the default moving speed while 6's run is unrealisticly fast. You do not get tired or run out of stamina, you keep going. While doing it you instantly maneuver obstacles aswell (think the Batman: Arkham games). Also there's an independent melee button and it's overpowered. There's no reason to shoot anything but bosses and out of reach enemies
Finally, regenerative health. Your health is made of several blocks, if one o. them is damaged it'll regen, if a box is depleted entirely only an herb will bring it back. It was fairly fun but the game suffers from horrific level design. My God.
Oh, and Chris is an alcoholic now. Yeah.
