So looks like I finally caught up. After trying to catch up for around one and a half year now, I finally did it.
Always barely reading more pages than Hussie updates, and I just made it to the beginning of a fresh new Act!
Oh, I can't wait to get to know all the kids and have their quirks described in detail before we start our advent-

A little ghetto? She calls herself the shit haxxor bitch and has some seriously hilarious Swag going on. Until her first name is revealed I'll just call her Lalonda for my convenience here *snaps fingers*
Also I love her since she's the first character to make blatant spelling errors, without giving a fuck. Finally I don't feel that bad about myself anymore, for having to look up a big chunk of fancy words Rose uses.

right now i'm wondering about that 13 troll, and who they are in relation to this timeline, perhaps, the sufferer? weird thought but it came to mind. I just guess when it comes to time line shit XD I never really got it much to begin with :P

Same here... I got two theories but since I really really don't get enough of this at all, all my attempts at theories will probably end in some logic felony...:/
But if it's not a completely new character, I think this is either the Handmaid or a really weird antithesis of the Sufferer.
What made me think of the handmaid is the chumhandle, which just reminds me a bit of a doctor, her use of U_U smilies similar to Aradia's smilies with 0_0. Also this character writes in a british way, maybe some kind of influence from Lord English (if he's indeed English)? But this could also be explained with an obsession for the letter U.
However, The character revealing she's a prospit dreamer, speaks against this.

What make me think of Sufferer is the colour of the font ( a grey slightly brighter than Karkat's) and that these conversations mimic those of Karkat, just with an EXTREMELY FRIENDLY tone all over it. The Sufferer was known to be friendly to almost unbearable levels until he completely flipped out at the end. The presumely female gender of UU doesn't go well with this theory though.
So maybe it is just a new character?

most likely it's new and theorizing is pointless but its still fun. I like your train of thought about it being the handmaid, that'd make some serious sense indeed. Regardless though, if its of the troll race, than this would be the first play of Sgrub that the trolls took part of, and thusly is the one that failed.

It took some convincing(okay, alot actually), but I'm glad you finally caught up with Homestuck lilly! High five. Welcome to the deep end of the awful fanbase that I told you to never pay attention to. Now all that's left is Silence, and we are set. As for the 13th troll, it really does seem like a nicer version of Karkat... wait that didn't come out right. A mary sue version of the tsundere Karkat we all currently know. Okay, that sounds so much better.

And as for the current updates, I really gotta continue with my reread. Mianly to better understand all the Furthest Ring afterlife bubble stuff. That part puzzled the bloody hell out of me.

Finally got my copy of Homestuck Volume 1 upon arrival to my home:

In certain cultures, such blatant desecration of a divine testament would be punishable by brutal sacrifice to the offended deity at the hands of the offended society. When such a transgression is made by the author, though, this normally reprehensible sin is alchemized into the target of monetary tribute and subsequent worship.

The low-down:

Volume 1 covers all of act 1. The images are faithful replicas, though the gifs obviously cannot be fully rendered. Animations worthy of note are rendered in either multiple images or semi-translucent movement trails on a single image. The end of act animation is a sequence of the important stills all on a few pages, varying in size depending on the emphasis on the shot (the final explosion is on a page of its own). Overall, the translation is not as graceful as one would hope, though it is what one should expect. The chatlogs actually translate surprisingly well, in separate boxes of different dimensions to hold the amount of text necessary. Sometimes conversations are divided into a couple different boxes for the sake of convenience and so they can line up better with the images they refer to.

Above all, though, the commentary shines. There is a comment on each page of the book. Some of them provide more humor in response to the page they denote. Others help describe the differences between the book and the website's animated content (plus, the top corners of each page list the extension url to find the pages online, which is pretty nifty). Most of the comments, though, provide insight into Hussie's creative process. There are details on themes and motifs (both ones that effect the story profoundly and ones that were scrapped), knowledge on things that were truly foreshadowing and which ones would merely influence later events and tidbits on other miscellaneous details about the writing of Homestuck in general. It adds a fresh perspective to the story.

The printed books are objects for the true fans or those yet to be fans, initially off-put by the notion of reading on the internet. It's nothing necessary, but big fans will definitely find it worth the price.

I want to have this book, for the commentaries alone, if anything. However, I'll most likely wait until there's more volumes out to buy several at a time.

Jack was never after Jade in this sense. He was following her and killing anything approaching mostly due to the Bec's prototyping, and receiving his overprotective attitude towards Jade, I believe.

The recent update makes me realize how much I love Jack so much. Yeah, he does alot of despicable stuff but the things that run through his head are amusing.
