This has actually helped me draw crowds and backgrounds. That's why I decided to do this for my portfolio than something simplier. Its helped me a lot to grow I think.

I don't know about graduation... that would require drawing too many people. The image I have is gonna be Battie flying away from the 'audience' with a note flying towards the foreground that has something like 'dear friends, thanks for the great year and I can't wait for the rest of our time at school next year and blah blah blah'. It's simpler and easier than drawing a whole group.

These are simply amazing. So full of life and so colorful. I wonder how much time does it take to finish a picture like these~

Thanks Nolus, glad you like all of these<3

Well... it depends. The classroom one took me 3 days, but each day I was working on it non stop for 4 hours at school (test week--seniors didn't have to come in the mornings monday-thursday, but I came in to work on the projects), and then some time at home. The Halloween one took me 3 days, but I worked on it for a significantly less amount of time than the classroom one. The meeting one took me months mostly because I just didn't want to work on it at all and finished it recently. But that doesn't even include the drawing part of it all--just the coloring.

If I had to average it out, I'd say it takes me about 1-2 weeks generally to get these done, at least with normal school schedule. If I work really hard, I can get them done in less time by working on them at home, but I'm a horrible procrastinator and I really need to break that habit. I'm planning on working my butt off tomorrow, next week, and next weekend to finish the next four. Luckily I've already fully drawn out one, half drawn another, and I have the concept sketches for the other two. Good thing I work best under pressure, haha.

Man, I am cutting things so close on these assignments. I still have 12 critiques to write. Part of me hates that I feel the need to be thorough. I don't skimp like half the people in class, I write a full page of critique. I could cut corners, but I don't think I'm physically able to not type until the very bottom line. I really really hope my essay for my other class is not due Monday. If I could I'd be revising my story, but the critiques are key.

Aaah lovely drawings!! lol that rainbow. You're brilliant Sai-chan. Everyone with sense knows that the only way to make something less obvious is to create something even more obvious on top of it, thereby eliminating the less obvious. I just love how much energy is in these illustrations. They're not all just standing around, there's action. There's a story being told in these pictures.

Those water colors are really neat. I really like the ghost, how you have dark blue for the outlines.

Oh god I know how you feel. I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to certain things, and I just can't help but try and fix it even though I don't have the time to be doing that. lol

I dunno I was actually just kinda messing around. And a rainbow was the only thing that would fit on top of multiple curved lines. But considering it was night the only thing I could do was make a dark rainbow, haha.
I'm not sure how much of a story is really in there, but it's enough to keep people interested (I hope). I don't like drawing people just... there. Especially my own characters. It just bugs me how unnatural it looks. So I try to keep it all 'organic' with at least a little bit of motion. I'm glad I've achieved that lol.

Thank you~ I really wanted the ghosts to be, well, obviously ghosts. I didn't want them to be random flying people lol I figured using a different outline would help with that impression.

Thank you taboo! <3 That means a lot~

I think after Battie (the witch), Fanny and Tom (the ghosts) are the most popular. I'm glad everyone likes them so far! c:

    Here's another watercolor~

Nice one Sai. I wish I can keep up commenting on all of these, but I'll say something once you post all of them at the same time.
Saving my best for last ;)

But for now I'll keep it short. Another fun loving image. I like the little dance in corner.

Funny story, I stayed up until 4 a.m. working on my final project that wasn't due today. :T The free donuts are not nearly enough compensation, but then again I hardly have a right to complain after missing classes for an entire week straight because I couldn't drag myself out of bed. So now I'm staring at my revised short story which is three pages longer and trying to resist the urge to keep adding more and fixing it because I don't want to have to keep spending money on printing. The saddest thing is that I wrote this story because of a joke prompt from my friends, but I can't be satisfied with it. Hell, it's not even an original concept, nearly everyone noticed the parallels (yet for some reason didn't seem to quite connect the dots in their reviews), and yet I have become attached to the characters. orz

Man I reeeeally should be working on my essay. Curse these unhelpful writing prompts!! I almost wish The Avengers wasn't coming out in theaters until summer starts because the possibility of going to see a midnight showing with my friend is not looking very good and by all rights I shouldn't, and I'll probably be too exhausted to enjoy it to its fullest. but then everyone else on the internet will have seen it and then I'll get spoilers. ahh first world problems. orz

It's alright. I await the day when I can give commentary on all of them~ c; Thanks~

I wanted to draw something silly and lighthearted. Them dancing is really just adorable~

Wow. I don't really know how to respond to all that Mari. xD; All I can say is that I hope you get all your crap done with time to spare. It's just so much work you have to do and it's almost overwhelming to read all this. Good luck!

    Spoiler:
    tumblr post:

At school we have this little sketchbook in the library that all the students can draw in. The students aren’t allowed to write on the other kid’s artwork.

This is a pic of Snape I drew in crayon that I didn’t finish. Apparently someone wrote on my pic without my knowing so I checked it out. This is what I found.

Suddenly, I wasn’t so mad anymore.

(wrote the top part afterward because when I was drawing this I was envisioning Snape’s hatred for kids and school. It seemed appropriate.)

    I lol'd

My God, this is so fitting that it almost seems fake. Like it's too good to be true.

I swear to God this is real. xD I seriously lol'd when I saw it. It was like the internet was actually invading my life irl.
It doesn't help that one kid made a sculpture of NyanCat that's been sitting in the library.

Little update: I finished the Christmas painting, but my mom took the camera so I can't take a pic of it yet. And so I've only got two more pieces to do. Wish me luck so that I can finish them by monday!
