They just updated the report on ANN. Apparently the Shabondy arc will be sub only. Oh well... at least we still get simulcast.

Update 2: The streams with both English dubbing and English subtitles begin from the anime's first episode. Funimation is streaming the later Sabaody Archipelago Saga story arc on Thursday, but only with English subtitling.

Ah man this sucks. One Piece has always been a mess with fansubs and with the new legal stream, we're screwed. Thank you Toei, thank you Funi, for nothing. Long life capitalism where America gets everything and the rest of the rest of the world can go frak themselves.

Yes, because FUNimation subbing One Piece will totally and completely stop people from getting the raws themselves without American help and translating it into their own langauge.

Clearly you haven't noticed what happened to FMA. There's only one subber left and that show has tens times the appeal and popularity of One Piece which has trouble just finding one trustworthy subber for a while now. Taking down One Piece subs is a piece of cake compared to FMA.

Why did anyone think they were going to be dubbing Sabaody anytime soon? It was obvious that they only plan on subbing the episodes for the site and will eventually dub them when the sets get there.

How's that funny? One Piece is awesome but it's not popular outside Japan. The lack of good subbers proves that much. With legal streaming some subbers quit at once, some quit after a C&D and some find a way to continue somehow. After that selection proces there's only one subber left for FMA which is the biggest show that's come out all year. Face it we're screwed.

Funimation only had the series for 2 years guys. Aren't guy overrecating a little two much. But I'll be supporting Funi sub release for the show and be watching it every Saturday night.

The subbers weren't a threat until now. Now they become direct (illegal) competition they have no choice but to send C&D's.
