We all ready knew the license was safe.

Yeah, you're probably right. I think I just want to hear something from Funimation soon.

Although, while looking for updates on Twitter, I did find something interesting - Funimation is hiring right now. There are some web people they were looking for (these were posted to monster.com BEFORE pirate gate) but they also included a sales position that included "managing files". They're PROBABLY talking about non-web files (like Excel documents and such), though I'm wondering if there will be a posting for some website related stuff in the coming days.

Also, I know we got sort of Roundabout confirmation that the License is Safe, but Que's source said "as far as I know", which doesn't make me feel 100% right on the subject.

I just want some concrete info from FUNi. I made a Twitter account, something I swore I'd never do, for the sole purpose of asking if the DVD sales were threatened at all by this, and they couldn't even tell me THAT MUCH. They just gave me the stock-standard "We're discussing the matter with Toei and will have an answer for you shortly"-type response.
That scares me.

they wouldn't take one piece away. as good as funimation has been to the series. one of the longest running shows ever will stay with the best in anime

Cripes people, the One Piece license is not, has not, and will not be at risk because of this. There has been nothing to suggest that and nobody in authority has even hinted that it's a possibility.

Well look, 4Kids screwed up with "One Piece" right from the get-go, not because fans hated it, but because Toei Animation was not happy with the initial ratings. I don't have a source but I remember hearing rumors that from Japanese news reports talking about the underperforming ratings with 4Kids, Toei Animation was considering taking the license away if they didn't do something to improve. Now if that's true, Toei Animation certainly gave 4Kids a fair chance to redeem themselves.

I saw something on their twitter a while ago, back when the leak was a day old, saying that right now only the online videos are effected, so who knows.

Back on top, hopefully FUNimation's video portal is down for maintenance because of presure from Toei Animation.
