Impossible to respect those perverted things.
How anybody could think a fat guy dressing up as a woman is awesome escapes me.
Because dismissing meaningless, subjective morals such as how people should dress is indeed awesome. One piece is a pirate centered manga so of course there will be themes of freedom and crushing overbearing ideals. Harden your heart or you won't enjoy this series as much as you could be.
I was disgusted at the first appearence of Bon Clay
and now i'm even more disgusted
this is my true opinion, and u can't sue me for it
No, and you couldn't sue me for calling you a whole lot of things, but I'm going to have the respect not to say so on an internet forum.
I vehemently support gays, bisexuals, and transsexuals in real life. I go to protests and such and vote accordingly. I could choose to be offended by some of the stereotypes presented in One Piece, but that's rather stupid, especially because overall, okamas are portrayed positively. Irregardless, I enjoy the hell out of it, so it doesn't matter. Oda doesn't go into any fleshy details, so there's no reason to be disgusted; these are just entertaining, eccentric characters that make One Piece so unique and interesting.
I really like how the okamas are some of the happiest and most badass characters around; if it makes people more comfortable with themselves or people around them, I'm pleased, and if it makes people stop being so thickheaded about something completely natural I'm pleased, and if Oda just writes more entertaining manga I'm the most pleased of all.
You can see it, in a different way:
they maybe wear clothes of a women because they like women very much, like someone how dress like a superhero on carnival or other festivities![]()
Mihawk is like Kanye West...ppl only scared of him bcuz hes kinda crazy and dangerous...hes only got 1 friend Jayz i mean Shanks no 2 mention hes really cocky too and nobody in the OP world likes him..mayb kanye has a long black sword too!!
When Mr. 2 showed up I think I was slightly offended or something because he seemed like such a ridiculous sterotype. Mostly because I have lots of friends who are LGBT and, you know, you think of them as just your friends and not as okama or whatever. Whatever goes on in their romantic/private life or whatever gets them off is their own business. What do I care? They don't care about my hetero life why should I give them beef about theirs?
But then Mr. 2 turned out so awesome and Iva and his buddies are just so amazingly super and now I sort of love that Oda made them so obvious because I love the message of how it doesn't matter how you dress/act because what's important is that you're comfortable with yourself and lsdkfjd. <3

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...it's the mucus that bites us!
Nothing wrong with either transsexuals or homosexuals, each to his own.
But that doesn't mean i want to look at fat hairy men in ballerina costumes on 19 pages, i'd rather play the "cho aniki" videogames instead (wait, no, i wouldn't).
So i'd say oda did it well and gave his characters more purpose and depth than just being hairy men in females clothes, because that would have been annoying (and tbh i feared that when ivankov was first introduced).
Yeah, cross-desser are not necessarily gay.
I believe the word can mean both, though. I remember in Kuroshitsuji they call a guy in there Okama even though he always dressed as a man (but he is gay).
In Saint Seiya - The Lost Canvas, there is a guy who dresses as a nun and they call him an Okama as well... so here the word is being used to refer to cross-dresser (unless the people are simply calling him gay, I don't know).
When it comes to Oda, I am sure he uses the Okama term as gay and not cross-dresser. I mean, for years the only Okama in OP was Mr.2 and, well, as weird as his clothes can be and even with all that makeup, he never dressed as a woman.
And even though in the Newkamas and in Kamabakka a lot of them dress like woman, Inazuma doesn't (actually, he dress quite normally for a OP character. Doflamingo looks like a flamming faggot compared to him. Even Spandam does.). What pretty much makes 66% of the revelant Okama (100% being Bon, Ina and Iva) not be cross-dressers.
