Zoro's character was never meant to be VERY funny. He is still funny enough when he gets lost or falls asleep when lifting weights, but his primary drawing point are his badass moments. And I daresay, he had A LOT of them in Thriller Bark.

Oda DID change his character though. He was much more relaxed at the beginning, Luffy used to abuse him A LOT.

Also saved Usopp's beaten up ass, returned to help Zoro and co. instead of running along with Franky/Nami, etc. He did quite a lot against Odz too.

Yeah Oda did let him make awesome stuff but nothing that gread as Zoro which most people are comparing.

He didn't change his character. He just has less time to display humorous moments with Zoro because the crew is much larger right now and he pays more attention to newer crew members. The defining trait of Zoro's character has always been his fighting prowess and his frightening resilience. Those haven't changed. The humorous traits are still there - they just don't get that much display.

I didn't say he did nothing - he was just overshadowed by other characters in the recent arcs. He wasn't in the center of attention (in a good way - the Duval incident was just a humorous event) for a while now.

That's what i was about to say. He certainly did more than the others in the last couple arcs, but not as much as Zoro or Luffy.

It was needed to escape. If each Okama was able zo using Okama-Kempo Sanji would have a hard time to free himself. That was just the best choice to do. He goes undercover
