The risks of an evolving story, driven by a game if you will.
If you look at it, Warcraft story had been "butchered" when Thrall was introduced, when Doomhammer becomes a good guy, when the damn space-goats arrived....
While I also have been disappointed with Blizzard's treatment of the Warcraft story to various degrees, I also acknowledge that things do tend to get topsy-turvy when the story is a dynamic, evolving one - often created by multiple people.
Warcraft story has come a long way from being a LotR wannabee to the complex hotch-potch of plots and sub-plots it is today.
This looks goddamn awesome
I've always been the level 40 kinda guy, because I never reach the cap, for example I have BC but not WotLK and I havent even reached outland yet lol xD.
All of azeroth better not look like that , this anarchy theme is cool but they shouldnt overdo it...
Currently I haven't played nor payed my subscription in a while... cuz of school and travelling etc. but whenever I get a break I think Ill join in again.

Well it's not all shattered. Desolace which is known for making the barrens look interesting is now lush and green.

I wonder how stv will look like after this make-over lol

I didn't see any images of STV, but they are cutting down on the range of levels in that place. I mean, it always was annoying that you could walk in the wrong way and get eaten by a ?? monster and then suddenly be back in ones that are lower level. Azshara is going to contain a big Goblin settlement. Thank goodness they finally put something in that giant waste of space.
Also, Goblins knocked down the mount from Stonetalon to Ashenvale where the little cave passage is, lol. Did anyone ever go that way? I know I never did. They showed what Orgrimmar and UC will look like after the redesign from a birds-eye view...pretty cool.

Yeah I always hated that about STV when I was a hunter...
Is that passage to stonetalon in the horde territory? Cuz I was a nelf when I went through ashenvale.
The irony of common sense is...

It's a small cave that is in Windshear Crag in the very northern region. It's neither horde nor alliance territory. As Horde it is easier to enter both Stonetalon and Ashenvale through the Barrens.

Ooo I need to check that out...

Tauren Paladins? Holy cow!
I'm sorry for that.
So many people in the world. And so many bullets. Lots and lots of bullets.
I'm pretty sure that was said by everyone at some point upon this revelation.

Though I do like the whole sunwalker idea of them.
If you haven't heard it yet, they worship the sun as the earthmother's eye like druids worship the moon.

I wonder if we would get to see Worgens in fancy robes <_<
I still don't get what's with Deathwing being in Deepholme - last we knew, he was under Grim Batol ("Night of the Dragon").
Anyway, I was re-reading the prophecy section of the "Rise of Lich King" novel, and happened across the following segment:
Spoiler:
Interesting....
I've been playing WoW lately, after ignoring it all these years. Really is as addictive as they say.
Got my warrior to level 39 in the past few weeks, one more level and I get an epic steed and can equip plate mail armor, yes sir.
Cataclysm should really shake things up, I'm glad I jumped in just in time to see what the old continents are like before they blow it all up. Though that should be great.
I just restarted WoW after two years.
My guild still remember me.
I hit 80 a couple days ago (I was 70 when I quit) And now I'm working on getting my epic flying mount (about 7-800 more gold) and (slowing) getting gear that won't get me laughed out of an instance.
I'm glad to be back, the main reason I left was because I couldn't go with my guild on their raids, and that's a lot easier now.

please explain the slaughter? im into the lore myself and really thats what has kept me from going to other MMOs. WoW has such a rich background and every area seeps with lore and legend that means something in the WoW universe. But the backstory of WoW is just that, backstory. Since the ending of Warcraft 3 WoW has had the opportunity to continue telling the story of warcraft. The only time they can really do something wrong is when they go back and add something into the established lore which Cata isn't doing. Instead its building upon the stories that have been established...so wheres this slaughter all you doomsayers keep going on about...
Nice video of the new Kalimdor areas in Cataclsym (don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled)

This will hold me nicely until the impending change in scenery I will partake in.
Afflic Warlock in Beta is shaping up nicely.
As are Blood DK Tanks and Prot Warriors.
Holy Power for Paladins scares the crap out of me... so I might shelf my healer.
http://www.youtube.com/user/OMFGcata Has a lot of awesome vids of some of the new quests lines and worg gob starting areas, plus a few requests he gotten.
http://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut also some good ones. His questing commentary isn't as interesting, but he has a lot of zone tours and the awesome troll starting experience.
Still waiting for the big hunter build, but it looks like beastmastery will be a lot more interesting again, and I'm so excited about the early game changes. Finally I be able to make and enhancement shaman. It always use to take way to long to get enhancement vital talents so I always gave up in the late teens. Now level 3 mini stormstrike level 10 duel wield and lava lash.
