We've got word on an animated short to be played before Wreck-It-Ralph: Paperman.

Computer-generated and hand-drawn animation come together in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ short Paperman which the studio confirmed will debut in front of the arcade-hopping adventure Wreck-It-Ralph that opens November 2.

The minimalist black-and-white short also screens Sunday with the family friendly indie Crazy & Thief as part of the short films lineup at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

Paperman is directed by John Kahrs. It follows the story of a lonely young man in mid-century New York City whose destiny takes an unexpected turn after a chance meeting with a beautiful woman during his morning commute. Convinced the girl of his dreams is gone forever, he gets a second chance when he spots her in a skyscraper window across the avenue from his office.

    source
This is Kahrs' directorial debut, but he's worked on Pixar/Disney works such as Tangled, Monsters Inc, and The Incredibles before this.

Sounds like a lovely short; I'm eager to see it later this year.

I saw the Paperman short in a screening! It's a really, really beautiful animation. I'm kind of holding onto this tiny hope that the style/technique they used for combining the 2D and 3D will catch on. I'd really love to see something like a feature length film done in this way.

Okay, this really doesn't have anything to do with any previous conversation. It's just really cool.

Sonic is going to have a cameo in Wreck-It-Ralph doing:
    Spoiler:

Sonic the Hedgehog is featured on a PSA telling characters to be careful not to die in a game that isn’t their own as there will be no regenerating afterward. Here
There has to be a "Sonic Sez" reference in it.

Somebody put it back up, eh?

In May, no less. I'm amazed that it's managed to last this long without Disney yanking it again.

I feel like Sting's hard work and the omission of it all is the only thing really tragic about the movie's change. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but from what I was seeing in the early phases, all their feelings about the film not really gelling were simply true. Yes, there were some really epic, beautiful aspects that could have been great on their own, but all strung together, it sounded like a mess. We may never know for certain, but I believe they ended up with the better story in the end.

The Sonic the Hedgehog event "Sonic Boom" was held yesterday, and it seems Wreck-It-Ralph was announced as a racer in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. And Roger Craig Smith will reprise his role as Sonic in the movie.

That's pretty cool! I wonder if they'll manage to have Ralph cameo in other games coming out in the near future as well.

Looks cool. Unlike Danica Patrick, this actually makes sense, as he travels through games in the movie.

WANDER OVER YONDER Emmy-winning producer Craig McCracken, among the most sought-after talent in TV animation, is the creator/executive producer of Disney Channel's upcoming Wander Over Yonder, an animated comedy series about best friends and epic enemies, set in surreal places across the universe. Wander is an overly-optimistic intergalactic traveler who, along with his loyal but bullish steed, Sylvia, goes from planet to planet helping people to live free and have fun, all against the evil reign of Lord Hater and his army of Watchdogs. The voice cast includes Jack McBrayer (30 Rock, Phineas and Ferb), Keith Ferguson (Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends) and Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants). McCracken created the Emmy-winning series The Powerpuff Girls and produced a feature film based on it. He also created the hit series Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, which also won him an Emmy Award. Prior to creating his own shows, McCracken directed Dexter's Laboratory and worked on a variety of shows for Hanna-Barbera. Wander Over Yonder is a production of Disney Television Animation.

They also have some sort of development deal worked out with the guys who make Homestar Runner though there's never been any news beyond the fact that such a deal exists. At least, I don't think anything else has been said about it since then.
