listening to you guys talk about english voice actors made me realize why you hate the word nakama and other japanese words that go untranslated. you guys must have or still do watch dubbed anime. for that, i am sorry :P
no knock on the voice actors though, i would like to have that job...minus the stupid fangirls (unless they're attractive)

Is there some sort of law that we can't watch dubs? I'm sorry, but this isn't the 80's anymore. There are plenty of quality English dubs. I still watch plenty of Japanese subs too though, I mean hell, I watch One Piece.

The reason why I don't like "nakama" isn't because I watch dubs, it's because there's no good reason why the word should be left untranslated.

sorry, but it's still hard to find a good dub out there and i would much rather watch something subbed over the dubbed no matter the series. and you're right, there is no good reason words like nakama go untranslated. all i'm saying is it's sounds better/cooler/fancier or however you want to put it. would you rather hear nakama or a word like friend, isn't that sort of cheesy?

Wait. I'm lost. You want it to be translated, but you think its cool to be said? I'll be honest. I could care less if people sub it as Nakama-san-tachi. Just keep consistency.

i don't want it to be translated, i think its fine as it is now. and i agree with the consistency. i've always heard/read it as nakama so why change now.

I hate Nakama and Haki. Oda is Japanese. He writes his manga in Japanese, Meaning, when it is translated, it is to be fully translated, to the language. Their are exceptions, like Sanji, Robin, and others attacks, but thats because Oda didn't write them in Japanese. When he writes a word in his manga, it is in one language.

The word Nakama, means friend. When someone in Japan, reads the manga, and see's the word Nakama, they register it in their brain, the same way, we register the word friend in our brains. So, if your saying translating the word Nakama is wrong, because saying Friend sounds cheesy, well ask a japanese fan, because us leaving Nakama as friend, is the same way the Japanese now the word nakama.

But you're basically saying you like the Japanese version more because it sounds better, not because it's inherently better. That can be applied to anything to anything you can't actually understand in your own language, because it's leaving it up to your imagination.

keeping the select words in japanese is how i've always heard/read them and they sound cooler. if you think differently then fine. i'm fine with how things are now and don't want it to change

it's not like im saying japanese is a better language? but it does sound better to me in certain situations, like in this manga

I'm very surprised that episode 47 has inflamed everyone about the word nakama, when we all should really be arguing about hippo filler. This is very disappointing.

I want that mantas with the hippo to return later in the arc, like maybe near the end, when Buggy and Mr.3 are with the escaped prisoners, and Magellan closes them in with poison. But I really wanna see those two beast again. That mantas was badass

We'll come out with some episodes and cool stuffs this week to fill that void in your heart. We may disagree with you, but *sniff* we understand what it's like not to have One Piece for a week. (I'm not being sarcastic, though I should be)
