Manga recommendations thread

There are just too many "what manga should I read" threads being made in cluttering the Other Manga/Anime section. My suggestion is that a mod makes a final Manga recommendations thread and, here's the important part, STICKY IT.

By doing so, the thread will firstly gain official notoriety so most members will post good manga in it. Once the thread runs out of steam as threads like that tend to do, rather than being buried by other threads like the others do until someone incapable of using the search function makes ANOTHER of those threads, it will stay at the top as a permanent database for those looking for a new manga to enjoy.

Also, by remaining a permanent fixture, its collection would grow and grow, not to mention the descriptions and critiques people would be giving the manga they or someone else recommended, until it becomes quite the glossary for good manga.

Why don't you make one? And if people really approve the idea, the thread doesn't have to be stickied, it would stick out among the rest at all times.

I can't sticky and if the thread isn't stickied, it'll eventually stay inactive as all the good manga get mentioned and it'll get buried. And that'll defeat its purpose of being a database AND more manga recommendation thread copies would be made taking up space.

I think this is a good suggestion. There is already a "Manga you'd like to read but don't have a link!" thread stickyed in the other manga/anime forum, why not a manga/anime recommendation thread stickyed there as well?

you know i think it won`t happen...
cause it isn`t rly necessary but i wouldn`t mind it when there is one.

but the main problem is that the last 3-4 suggestions (like a subforum for the games here) weren`t done of the admins..
i think that they don`t want to spent any time more on this side ,than necessary..
okay, making a sticky thread isn`t that exhausting, but i don`t know what exactly was against some of these suggestions here in the past and we also never got a statement..
so when you`re not lucky enough that a su-mod will read your suggestion any time soon, this will be digged under plenty of useless suggestions...

I think a good way of formulating something like this is by genres. And since this might not prove to be convincing enough for one to actually start reading, we could add a simple spoiler below with the actual plot of that series.

Well I don't think there needs to be a list perse. People can just recommend manga they think is good in their own posts and afterwards people looking for a new manga to read can simply peruse the thread with the members' comments on the manga to guide the person perusing to the right choice for him or her.

Not really, it's primarily a list to get into NEW manga not to find old manga. The longer the list, the better. It's not like people have to go through the entire list before choosing a manga.

I like the idea of a recommendation thread! You don't need a staff to create it. YOU can create it AND then PM one of them to sticky it for you! That would be the easiest way!

If you want I, as a retired staff, could create it for you and then contact one of them to have it stickied <3
