I disagree, mostly because I tried my damndest to find heels my size, but I have ginormous feet (Males size 13 w) the only pair I could find were had to be tailor made to my size and cost well over 150 dollars (which frankly I wouldn't have spent anywhere near for a pair of shoes I'll never wear again)

This costume might re appear eventually ( I had some great skit ideas, and some friends are trying to get me to bring it to another con) but I have no intention of making it a regular costume by any regards

XD Actually I was going to try and auction off the dress between DA and AP and see if I could get some of my moolah back ( I'm far too broke right now)

Exactly. Carrying heels on your hand, and running barefoot in the sand...which is kind of hard in Chicago. And I wouldn't recommend being barefoot in a sandbox either.

So Acen 2010 came and went with a blast in reality here, at the Arlong Park forums is the only place. (It does get pretty Juciy)

It's Thursday night, when I take my leave to the embassy suites in the busy conference hub we like to call Rosemont, IL. The ride it its own was pretty interesting, my mom is a little....Nuts and medicated, we almost died several times.


So I hit the seen, not to much is going on considering it's thursday at a con, so me and a few friends bust over to stake and shake to enjoy what will likely be our only meal this convention



That's me and Yordy, he is pretty much a little bro.

The nights ends as expected, with me and my friends doing less than legal things on the roof, having alot of fun, and retiring for the night to sleep.

Friday pretty much started off with a HUGE bang and just kept going. Ignoring the almost hourly ambulances I headed off earlier to grab my badge, Which of course read "Abs.Mr.Prince", and headed to enjoy the convention in my new costume



And that was it Snow Villiers, making it HERO TIEM.

I had alot of fun in this costume despite it's not being doneness. There were quite a few Snow cosplayers their, as expected considering the games recently release. I don't know most of them weren't bad, but every Snow that had a costume that didn't suck was a scrawny dude, all the appropriate or more than appropriate sized Snow's costumes were pretty closet style. I can't avoid being vain here at 6'4 I'm just an inch shorter than snow, and I have pretty broad shoulders myself.

So the one piece photo shoot slowly starts to sneak up on us all, it's nearly six and I had promised plenty of people I'd be showing up dressed in well, a dress. However, my dress hadn't shown up yet, I had a friend helping me with some last minute alterations. So I decide to quickly hand sew the buttons back on my vest and hop into sea train Sanji to join the fun.

So I had be on my way to the shoot when I saw 5 curly eyebrows looking at me, they were all on the wrong side, all matching, and passing out fortune cookies that said "You will be accosted by 5 people dressed as Sanji"





I missed about half the shoot after seeing them, most of my pictures ended up blurry cause people don't know how to use a point ant shoot digital camera

Not even 10 minutes after the shoot my friend shows up to acen with my dress and hands it off to me, I run over too the Embassy from the hyatt and get on the elevator

so then I start talking to this girl in the corner, we hit it off and I enter my room expecting not to see her again (mind you my room is across from the elevators, and she was on the same floor) I'm getting ready to put on my dress and she knocks on the door, gives me her number and tells me to call her (which unfortunately my schedule really didn't permit...and I forgot)

Well I get the dress on and venture into the unknown to see someone, this someones a girl, I'm rather fond of....heck I love her..and I'm in a dress. But we hadn't been able to see each other in AGES and I missed her, so I didn't care, the tricky thing about this situation is she has this neglectful and controling boyfriend of four years and..we just kinda.. fell into each others hearts by chance. She's afraid to brake-up with him and I understand why, the end of that relationship would start huge conflicts for her, but I don't know if I can wait forever, I'm human (and I've been waiting along time)

So it's about 8:15 when we finally run into each other, it was kinda magical. I mean I can't say anything particularly special happened, but it's just...when you can hold someone you love, for the first time in forever, because you haven't been able too, it's kinda like the world isn't so chaotic for a moment, it's kinda like magic, time stoping fire works, magic.

The only problem being I have to be back at the embassy in just over half an hour, it's not a far walk so I keep putting it off.

It's 8:52 I have to be at the "Zombie survival" Panel, my friend who was supposed to be helping has terrible stage fright and really didn't want to do it, so I offered to take her place.

I had to either dart, or think fast. It's just then that I see my friend Kim, A Dante (DMC) cosplayer, on her 3-wheel motorcycle. I run into the middle of the road and shout "TOO THE EMBASSY! I'm LATE FOR THE PROOOOOM!" and hop on the back of her bike, we ride off and people lining up for the friday night rave are busy laughing their asses off at this sight



We end up getting stopped next to a red mini van, I look over and they are laughing their tanned asses off, so to appease the ganjrou girls (by choice not cosplay, srsly these were normies) and make the motion for " Roll down the window" the eldest (assumingly the mom) rolls down her window and continues to laugh.

I ask " DO YOU HAVE ANY GREY POUPON" She motions no and nearly falls out the window laughing.

I get to the panel just in time, Only to really do nothing, the panel already had 3 hosts and really didn't need a fourth despite my Ph.d in Zombology.

I head back to the hotel and meet up with Cactusmomma and Omnichild, I basically ended up having a very interesting time in their room. I had compramising pictures of me taken in a dress, then in my christmasy boxers (which I have given omni permission to post here), and I ate grape gummy bears, which were far too delicous.

I tried calling Moonneko(Ithink?) and telling her how much I hated her and her sister for getting me in a dress, but she didn't answer cause she was at work, you girls better love me (this includes anyone else who wanted that to happen)


I go back to my hotel and change, then return to the hyatt to meet my friend Emily. Emily and I catch up and go for a bit of a walk, I end up seeing my friend Mike, fantastic guy but that's not the point. Upon stopping to see Mike I hear crying, I turn around and see her, the girl mentioned above. She is standing about a foot away from her boyfriend, they aren't even touching. My Mr.Princely-ness kicks in and I run to her, she pulls me in and starts crying into my chestal reigon. I know I can't stay, that's about all I know I look up at her boyfriend and try to think of what expression my face should be making. I want so hard to smirk, feeling in a sense victorious, but I also don't want to ruin the con for her with spoiling whatever they still have on one of the rare occaisons they see eachother (they can do that themselves apparently)

So I assure her everythings going to be okay, I hug her tightly, kiss her on the cheek and take off my wrist band, putting it on her arms and making her promise to be safe and give it back to me before the end of the con.

That's pretty much the end of the night I snuck off and had a few drinks with some friends and we ended up getting lost outside after a walk, then we went back to our respective rooms.

Saturday rolls around and I've woken up pretty late and missed the one piece panel, I'm excitedly rushing to get my Snow Costume back on and head to the Final Fantasy shoot, I was genuinely excited considering I hadn't been to one in years

It was alot of fun, I have a bunch of old friends who still cosplay FF regularly so I was excited to be along side them again, I had to leave early unforuntaley to change and head to the panel I was actually supposed to be co-hosting, The Shinmegami Tensei Persona panel

Were usually a pretty big hit at cons, but we had been pushed to the embassy given our size expectations (200+) which we had well exceeded last year by complete chance. We were worried that this year, people wouldn't be able to find us, or wouldn't care to walk across the street to hear us blabber on about a game series

but we did and it was a full house, (with people entering and exiting the entire time, keeping it pretty constant)



The real downside of hosting the panel being missing the saturday one piece shoot, which started at the same time as the panel and ended much sooner. The panel proved to be interesting for me too in it's own respect, un like previous panels I hadn't been preped on the new material (so I was completley winging my jokes since I'm only there for comic relife) I also hadn't been informed that not only would we be starting a newsletter, but looking at finding a 3rd panelist and future replacement for the man on my left. He's the true fan of SMT:Persona, I'm just a would be fan who is known for being the funny guy. So part of me has to wonder if the replacement is really for him or if it's for me, Richie is a med student so it can go either way.

After the panel I really got my first taste of down time, I changed into Spike (kinda ghetto fied) from Buffy and wandered about the con, waiting for my friends to be ready for the mock shoot we had planned for the "Whedonverse"

bit of a side note, I had to shave my goatee, I pretty much nearly cried, it's the one thing I hate about cosplaying Spike, as much as I love the character I hate his lack of facial hair always making me feel obligated to shave my goatee, which I have grown far far too attatched too

Several of the friends dropped out last minute and we became a duo but before that I headed back to the room to bandage my feet a little. I was rooming with a series of interesting characters and that isn't even mentioning their cosplays

Richie is dressed as Adachi still, Curt is nightwing, and Erica is pretty normal but wearing her gaga wig.

Curt starts mixing up this drink he likes to call Kryptonite (it's very appropriatley named as well, it's bright green, and given enough of it could probably kill super man, powerful stuff, lots of liqur, no strong taste.

So I can officially say that nightwing was serving me Kypronite and I lived to tell the tale, take that Superman.

after a few drinks I head out conward and meet up with my friend. She was dressed as Faith from Buffy, we had a bit of a fail shoot, we lacked two things needed for this a photographer and when we found one a camera that could handle low lighting.

We ended up just sitting down and catching up, a friend who I think may have a thing for me accused me of trying to screw the girl pictured above instead of hanging out with her and playing some stupid game of duck duck goose called "were wolf"

I'd like to point out that she in no way is eligble to be a girl I would date let alone sleep with, she's 17, not single, and a lesbian, let alone she lives all the way in like MI or something.

after that the night pretty much ended, some drunke buffy fans recognized me and told me that James Marsters will be at Wizard World. James Marsters plays Spike if you were unaware.

Sunday is the day where things really got interesting if your still reading, I had a brief OP Shoot with some friends in our new (and propless) Strong World Mafioso outfits.

Then things just got..interesting. I met up with that girl, she had no recollection of the crying, and had wondered why she woke up with the wristband (Drinkings bad kids). We wandered the dealers hall together, talking really talking for the first time in awhile (we have both had pretty hectic lives lately) I buy myself the strong world art book in the dealers hall and then get a call, summoning me over to the double tree to get a bag od goodies from AP memeber Ningyobaka

Well there were alot of goodies, in a duffle bag, and I had to run them to my friend Alex's car. so we walk over to the hyatt parking structure. Alex had parked on the roof a few nights earlier and we headed up their. We got in the elevator and were looking deeply in each others eyes. I kissed her on the forehead softly and gave her a hug, then I pulled away and shook my head.

I could think of only one thing to say "Fuck it." and then I planted a kiss deeply on her lips. Then another, it really was, at least for me one of those defining moments, I basically acknowledged for the first time in along time that my name was David Arnow, I'm king of the pirates, I take what I want, and my balls had dropped ages ago. We both pulled apart and then looked at each other blushing and smiling brightly. She tells me she got what she wanted from the con, to kiss me, to see me. that I was the reason she came. I feel special.

I drop my things off in the car and change quickly on the top level of the parking garage, not many of you have been to IL I'm assuming, but a suit in may is usually a good way to sweat buckets, when with a pretty lady I'm the type that likes to impress.

We head to her car and she does the same, her boyfriend meets up with us, causing me of course to be forced to put on a show, him and I are aquaintances on friendly terms, I couldn't help but think of songs like "Jessie's Girl" and "Dirty Little Secret"

We headed back to the dealers room, I bought my self a doctor who poster and I acted somemore, they were leaving soon I knew I could keep it up that long, despite being able to think about nothing but wanting a goodbye kiss.

I think I had my first bit of good luck in awhile, her boyfriend decided to go for a cigarette, we of course didn't join she's allergic and I'm quitting.

He heads for the fountain we head up the stairs (after telling him we would meet him by the foutain in a few, that we were just gonna look at a few booths) we find a quiet place and share what will for awhile be our goodbye kiss, and I feel lighter than air, returning her to her boyfriend shortly after, leaving the con, and still to this moment more or less floating happily along.

Cons for me haven't been good lately, all things considered, details included and left out this years Acen proved to be the best convention I have ever attended, I even don't actually hold so many bad feelings towards the Okama cosplay, I more or less had a great time, even in a dress.

ABs, I'm so happy to know that your con going fire was rekindled D: I'd hate to see you stop enjoying cons I LOVE seeing your pictures SO MUCH because you're always so good at getting in character, you have the BEST facial expressions, and even though you're not shaped like a toothpick, you still look slick and AMAZING! It must be nice to kiss someone T__T I doubt it'll EVER happen to me... BUU xD

I'm so happy to get to read this. It makes me anxious and excited for A-Kon n__n it also makes me wish we lived closer to go to A-Cen or any other con you guys go to x__x; but we live so far away T_T not as far as Arei, but still...so far T_T BUU!

Also, seeing your Strong World Sanji in pictures was a SHOCK D: I didn't think you had a new Sanji cosplay other than Okama xDDD I"M SO HAPPPY to see that MAN it makes me wanna cosplay SO BADLY!!!!

Well I have a few more One Piece cosplays I'm working on, I'm getting a Strong World group together for the masquerade scene were gonna have all the guns and obnoxious props ( I'm having trouble finding an usopp that can live up to my Ichnob standards)

I'm doing Whitebeard at my next con with any luck, and then for my fall and winter con I'm going to try and get Alabasta and Drum Island Sanji done.

and the SW group sounds AWESOME! I wish I knew so many people xD; I'm getting my sis to do SW suit Sanji, I already have Luffy but ... that's it. xDD; we fail. I hope you can find someone D: I'd totally cosplay Usopp, I even found pinstripe material but I'm not good at armor at all and I don't live in the area T___T and i'm too short *WEEPS* too bad Ichnob couldn't fly out there xDD i'm sure he could do it so well!!
