Thread: Dragon Quest thread

Well, I believe anyone can cast Twocus Pocus on another character, so I'm considering giving it to my Martial Artist to cast onto my Sage so she can start setting up the team's defenses immediately, before going on a vicious assault.

    Haven't learned Omniheal yet.

Atlas missed with his criticals a LOT. Mostly because my Hero (Gladiator) and Paladin are beasts with their shields. "Atlas attacks Lute! Critical Hit! Edward protects Lute! Edward blocks with his shield!" That happened a lot. Forbearance owns so much.

The only thing that tends to get my Paladin killed if I use Forbearance is Breath-based attacks. If any of my team had a way to protect breath attacks, it would help. Mind Over Matter only protects the one who used it, and I don't have any class who can use Insulatle, because Ranger isn't a very good vocation to me. I guess I'll need to make my Paladin into a Martial Artist so he can use MoM for a boost. Seriously, though, with Paladin's tiny spell list that already mostly focuses on buffing, he SHOULD have Insulatle as an option.

EDIT: Wait, you mean you have the benefit of Kazing, which I know Priest doesn't learn, and the double-cast Multiheal makes up for no Omniheal, don't you?

Heh, That's exactly why I didn't use forbearance, I was afraid of getting caught out on the hop with his ground move followed by a direct attack. As for breaths, I guess maybe look into armour that defends against it?

Some great news though. We already know DQIX did well in the UK, but american NPD results have just come out, and...

    NCAA FOOTBALL 11 360 ELECTRONIC ARTS Jul-10 368.0K
    NCAA FOOTBALL 11 PS3 ELECTRONIC ARTS Jul-10 298.8K
    CRACKDOWN 2 360 MICROSOFT Jul-10 208.8K

It charted! bodes very well for DQVI.

His ground move, um, Crackerwhack(?) did hit my Paladin pretty hard if I used Forbearance (around 400 of my 470 HP) but with a Sage on standby with Multiheal or Moreheal, I wasn't worried. The direct attack following it up wouldn't have a chance of getting me unless he did Crackerwhack followed by Critical Hit, which I think he can't do. Once I have my Buff set up on my Paladin, Atlas' normal strikes only do 1 HP of damage.

Baramos is up to level 10 and he quickly went from joke to asshole. He's stronger, faster, and, worst of all, smarter. It's like he knows breath attacks are my big weakness and he has started spamming it on me like crazy.

I'm betting my team were a lot weaker when I beat atlas though, it was a couple of weeks back now.

Now every character has every stat boost there is, heh.

I have a lot of stat boosts, but not all of them. My highest level is my Martial Artist who is now at 72, my lowest level is my Sage at 49.

High enough for kazing, which is the best thing.

    Precisely!

Have you started revocating already? Or are you just well-rounded in all classes, but not quite at 99 in main class?

If I get around to it, I plan to go to Slime Hill and jump up several levels in other classes to get those couple stat boosts I still need.

My level 65 Gladiator Hero still can't even use his Gigagash scroll because of it needing 30 MP. I'm sure it isn't worth it anyway, though. I know for a fact that Hand of God (Claw) is a piece of crap. I do WAY more damage with the 0 MP Flailing Nails than with the 15 MP Hand of God. And since I had to master Wands and do a quest to earn it, Zing Stick SHOULD have perfect accuracy. Stupid that it fails just like normal Zing.

Just very well rounded. Jacks knack + Goddess ring means I spend 90% of my time in bowhole without having to leave apart from saving when I've been down there a few hours. I assume you know the bowhole glitch?

My warrior type guys benefited a lot from completing enlightenment, faith & spellcraft.

Very important for me as multithrust is the heart of my strategies.

Don't you think Slime Hill is better for training than Bowhole at this point? I sometimes get 3 or 4 Liquid Metal Slimes at a time on Slime Hill, while the Bowhole only gives one on occasion, not to mention, despite me being at ridiculously high levels, the damned Sculpture Vultures always try to chase me down.

Supposedly, there are Metal King Slimes in the Tower of Nod, but I have yet to see one, so I figure it's better just at Slime Hill.

Speaking of Nod, how do I wake that thing at the top up? I've tried using sleep curing herbs, clapping, and all kinds of stuff. Is it DLC, and I just need to wait instead of wasting my time?

Question: Where do I find these scrolls? I already got the one from the Thief quest and the guy (girl?) said to equip it but I don't seem to be able to find it in my inventory at all 0.o

Edit: It was in my pocket. Sorry XD

My opinion is that with the glitch, they are a lot more common in bowhole.

And sculpture vultures aren't a problem if you wait till metal slimes run to the right, then follow them, and as a bonus you get a chance of a surprise attack.

Even better, later on I got Vanish, so they never see me at ALL now.

Nod is a wifi quest that hasn't happened yet.

The people who give you quests, then another at 15, then another at 40 for each class. the level 40 quest is rewarded with a scroll. The scroll goes to your bag, put it in one of your characters items and it will show up in their ability list(it is not an item you equip).

You earn the scrolls from either the LVL 40 Vocation quests or the MAX skill points instructors at Swinedimples.

After you beat the quest, they just give you the scroll. You don't equip them, you just put them in your characters item list.

For example, instead of having a Medicinal Herb in your Martial Artist's item list, you give them Thief's Scroll, then you'll sometimes have your Martial Artist steal an item after you kill an enemy.

EDIT: Vanish! I totally forgot about using Vanish!!!

    Glitch in Bowhole?

And as I said, waiting till they've run to the right/ using vanish you often get the drop on them as well.

If you have your Hero at above level 60, I'd forgo tracking down LMS and look for a grotto that contains King Metals. Use the enemy grotto FAQ on Gamefaqs and look for a D-ranked floor in a water grotto, which should be any one of them that has at least 10-12 floors and is above level 60.

Don't go looking for KMS in the Tower of Nod. They're extremely rare.

I been using the LMS Bowhole trick to play two games at once. Keep the bottom of the screen in the corner of your eye while I play Dragon Warrior Monsters.

Two Dragon games in one XD

Completed the main story after 76 hours. Got the exterminator accolade. Spent most of today exploring the overworld map with the Starflight Express and doing some quests so now I've hit 80 hours.

I tried the Bowhole trick for a while, but I don't like it. I'm really impatient and just standing and waiting for the spawn was annoying me. lol

I'm just doing grottoes now. Trying to get a "Silver" one.

Solo grotto exploring can be fun, too.

Like I said. It's more fun if you are doing something else while doing it.

    I'm playing DWM myself XD

Anyways. For those who have them. I ordered 3 about a week ago and won a copy of 1 + 2. Am I best off playing the games in order or does it not really matter?

Also with Dragon Warrior Monsters. Does the baby monster learn the spells from the parents? I have a Lavaman + 3 that was created through a breed of a Lavaman and a Iceman and it learns both Ice and Lava attacks. Just wondering if it was worth me breeding my Hale with something and getting a better monster with healing spells.

I can't really play two games at once, really. I don't know why, but I'd rather just focus.

I would say I, then II, then III. The true chronological order is III, I, II, though, but playing it where you hear so much about Loto, then finally playing the story of Loto is fantastic.

I is the shortest, with the smallest map. II is an expansion on I's world. III is an all new world PLUS the map of I. It has been a while, so I don't fully recall if III has the full expanded map of II, but I don't believe that it does.
