I'm currently reading Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and The Paris Review Book of Heartbreak, Madness, Sex, Love, Betrayal, Outsiders, Intoxication, War, Whimsy, Horrors, God, Death, Dinner, Baseball, Travels, The Art of Writing, and Everything Else in the World since 1953 by various authors.~

And yes, that's the actual title. I saw someone mention that they were reading Lolita earlier on in the thread but didn't bother to comment; it's a pretty controversial book but the writing style is incredible and worth checking out. My friend actually recommended it to me as a means of studying other writing styles, which I'm pretty much doing with both of these titles.

    Fun stuff, all crazy.~

"Achaja" by Andrzej Ziemiański. I'm currently near the end of second volume.

    The Phantom of the Opera

    Spoiler:
Pretty good, except for the heroine immediately thinking of suicide should the phantom "stop acting like a gentleman", instead of, you know, trying to kill him. Also I dunno if I should love or hate the fact that the whole "rescue" at the end, aka the last 80 something pages were completely pointless.

I picked up a Confederacy of Dunces about a week ago and am reading it whenever I work for small periods of time. So I'll probably finish next weekend.

Yeah, Lovecraft was very much so a sexist and racist. He was definitely a product of his times.

But he was still a fantastic writer.

One Piece (it's literature with pictures, don't tell me it's not it has all the same type of allusions, foreshadowing, plot elements, ect and it's better than most of the "books" out there)

-If you really need convincing reading Doflamingo's speech

Other than that I can't remember atm the last "book" I read
Big Mam interrupts the plan to take down Kaidou after this current arc AND Doflamingo is taken down by more than one person (Luffy/Law, Big 3, ect)

There's a huge difference, and you know it. Literature is by definition a written work. Manga and Comics, though written, do not fall into that category, as they are a primarily visual medium. That's why, even if you don't understand the writing in a comic, you can usually figure out what's going just by looking at the pictures.

If we go by your qualifiers, then television shows, movies, and old school radio drama are literature too. After all, they all started written down. But that's not the way we classify them. Why? Because the written word is not the primary tool for conveying the story.

    No.

I just finished The Mongoliad: Book One. I expected it to be awesome because Neal Stephenson was one of its writers. It was shitty.

I am now reading Dark Integers and Other Stories by Greg Egan.
