It's been a long couple of weeks since the announcement video was posted, but things are about to get crazy. I hope you've all taken the time to prepare for this.
As previously stated, this preliminary round will cover 32 matches of 10 characters each. Once each match is over, the top 4 vote getters will secure a spot for the tournament in May, while the other 6 will be left behind. We will also be having one event mod refrain from voting in every preliminary match. That way, if a tie occurs, his or her vote will act as the tiebreaker. Therefore, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to vote for a tie in this round.
Some very similar characters to the story have been grouped together. Other nameless characters have been "dubbed" names by the tournament staff so that they could participate. Those nameless characters can be recognized by the quotations around their names. In every case, portraits of each contestant will be included in their matches when they begin. That way, everyone will know who is who.
It appears there were some mistakes in the this post I made which spanned through April 1st. My apologies for the errors. The corrections were made now, so it should be 100% accurate.
Since he was the champion of the last character tournament, Luffy will get a free pass through the preliminary round. He was drawn to be included in preliminary match #29, so that match will actually only contain 9 characters who will battle for only 3 spots. All the participants of last year's tournament will appear in the preliminaries, with no exceptions.
Now then, without further ado, I present to you the preliminary matchups (in chronological order):
The preliminary matches will be setup with multiple votes, so you'll be able to vote for as many or as few of the 10 names as you wish. Remember when you vote that only the top 4 from each match will move on. Voting on all 10, for example, would be the equivalent of totally wasting your vote.
The first preliminary match will start in 2 days.
