    Do share, Greg. Do share.

@CU: Oh yeah, I do have one of those plastic bags that you could shove into your pocket if you wanted to... but it's been shoved in the bottom of my closet =/

This morning I awoke from a jetlagged sleep to a stirring hunger. But it wasn't just any hunger. It was a specific type of hunger. One that can't be satisfied here in the states.

I am talking, of course, about Mister Donut.

Mister Donut, for those not in the know, is a 40 year old donut chain store that actually started in the USA, but was eventually slurped up by it's biggest competitor, Dunkin' Donuts. However, Mister Donut stores are everywhere in Japan. There were two in Kyoto Station alone. And that is where I fell in love.

I prefer Mister Donut to Dunkin' for several reasons. One being how light and puffy they are. They have got to weigh at least half of what a Dunkin' Donut weighs. And they are oh-so puffy, which is reminiscent of Krispy Kreme.
However, herein lies the big difference between your run of the mill Krispy kreme and Mister Fucking Donut: The taste. I find Krispy Kremes to be too sweet, whereas Mister Donut is just the right amount of sweet and actual taste. My personal favorite is Strawberry Ring, or hell, anything Strawberry flavored they have to offer. Your taste buds will explode. Angel Cream is also tasty.

So I woke up this morning craving nothing but Mister Donut. Saddened, I went to work on an empty stomach. I hear that any Mister Donut in the US that didn't become a Dunkin' Donuts, became a Donut Connection. Until I taste test for myself, I will have to wait until the next time I visit Japan to get my fix.

During my ten day stay in Japan, I enjoyed Mister Donut four times and donut regret a single visit.

Oh I want to visit Japan so badly now!

As for Greg's bag problem - We also had free bags here, untill some ecologist politician introduced the concept of paying for it.
I remember being completely against the idea of paying for a plastic bag, so I refused to buy more than i could carry with my hands..... Time went by and without knowing it I accepted the situation... Thanks Greg for reminding me again.

I'm going tomorrow. They're reintroducing the Honey Cookie Cruller.

Honey Old Fashioned & Honey Cookie Cruller.

Unless you've had them you don't know.

    YOU DON'T KNOW.

And this isn't one of those, "It's in Japan and you can only eat it in Japan and therefore its delicious!!! NYGHA!" that people tend to apply to shit that's really not all that tasty.
    ie. 90% of Japanese pizza.

Visit ANY J-newbie's blog and they'll spend hours extolling corn and tuna on pizza.

    It's NOT that good.

But Mister Donuts is fucking delish.

Dude is dead on. It's sweetness and actual taste.

I also suggest their Madagascar Vanilla shakes.

Goddammit! This is my one weakness! Doughnuts!

Did I need more motivation to want to go to Japan?

I'm also a card carrying member of MISDO CLUB, where you may rack up points to get free donuts or a free gift if you get enough.

Mine will probably expire by the next time I go, sadly.

    That looked god-like.

When I visit to Japan, either this summer or I'll have to move it to Christmas Break, if summer classes fucks me over, I plan on eating a lot of shit.

Because that's the number one reason for me to stay at a place.

If the food is magnificent, I'll stay.

Mister Donut was the worst thing to happen to me. I can't count how many times per week I would stop there on the way home after a night of drinking and wake up in crumb-filled wrappers. No matter how drunk I was, though, I don't think I could ever get to the point of not being able to enjoy it. I used to roll with those and Boss coffee in the morning.

    Shrimp Mayo Pizza...no.

Just read article title but I'm gonna go ahead and say "Fuck yeah!"

A Japanese hippy wrote a book about how people's blood-types determine their personality. This stuck its harpy claws into the public and left the realm of 'crazy fortune-telling shit' and became SCIENTIFIC LAW.

This is why the Street Fighter manual listed everyone's blood-type.

People will observe a quirk or two and ask your blood-type and no matter what the answer they'll reply, "I thought so! Because you're so XXXXXXXXXXX."

I take pleasure in lying by telling everyone I'm B and getting the, "I thought so!"

Similar to how "all Aries are like this and all Leos are like that".

Oh. And the entire plot to Escaflowne.

I wish I was born two years ealier so I could have been born in the year of the Dragon. I'm pretty sure as a Dragon I could have earned world domination! But I'm just a sheep...
Funnily enough my blood type, western zodiac, and chinese zodiac all give me the same attributes, my classmate's chinese zodiac and western zodiac however contradict each other so extremely, that she must be shizophrenic for this to even remotely make sense.

This made me laugh. I'll take a guess and say deep down inside, Greg is actually a type A: Despite the active and passionate Type B appearance, he's actually introverted and vulnerable at heart.

You don't know how badly I wanted to follow this with:

"Come on now, that's just psychic mumbo jumbo."

But the sad truth is, they believe that as well.

In fact, the major morning news programs end every single morning with a fortune-telling ranking segment.

I would have prefered to show you Mezamashi TV's since it's far more 'stereotypically' 'Japanese' but as Fuji are fucking Communist Nazi Zombies From Beyond, there's no trace of it on YT.

Oh Japan does the Astrology bit too?

I'm used to that locally in Puerto Rico newscasts and variety shows.

Some Latin American shows had those segments but slowly the've been pulled off.

Lulz @ the blood type thing... no wonder EVERY fucking Fighting Game manual lists that shit.

    IT BURRNS US!!
If I ever write a story involving Japanese characters, I'm going to give them the 'wrong' blood type out of spite.
On another topic: Hey, you know how Jack the Ripper, Jason and Ed Gein got some homages in Japanese culture? (Soul Eater and Rurouni Kenshin to start)
How come the Monster with 21 Faces never got explored as a story-telling device? I can imagine someone easily cashing in on that whole fiasco.
