If pixar gets their own threads, then I think when Dreamworks does something right, they should get a thread too.

I have to say, the animation looks really neat/crisp.

Though I have doubts the plot will reach the same standard.

The plot spoilers on the standard trailer looked basic and overly familiar, Though this isn't much to go on.

Is it a lot more complex, or is the plot itself just a oldskool winner?

yeah it's familar, but that doesn't stop it from being overly entertaining

I wanna see this sometime soon, some of my friends talked about it seeing it today... but they didnt invite me. LOL. I'll see it with my brother, or just not see it. I think the dragons look a little weird though.

I didn't think this looked too awe inspiring, then I realized it's a book series. I didn't see the first book there though, otherwise, I might've grabbed it. But I did go crazy over watching the How to Train Your Dragon stuff on On Demand.

Looks very entertaining at the very least - the twin chick was a riot.

I saw it yesterday and I loved it :) The 3D was nothing special, but the movie itself was awesome :D

    Too expensive.

I was going to see it during the premier, but then I saw the price.

I'm going to see this movie again tomorrow morning. I absolutely loved it! True, it's a simple storyline, but it's a fun ride and I love the characters.

I was very skeptical of the movie when I first heard about it and started seeing ads, but it sounds like it's getting received very well. Unfortunately I'm not a movie-theatre guy, $10 to see a movie once without the ability to pause and take a piss is too rich for my blood. It also doesn't help that movies have about a 4 month wait period between Theatre debut and video release.

I'll definitely be checking this out once we get a Blu-ray release.

I think that while the plot might not REDEFINE DRAGONS IN MAINSTREAM ANIMATED CINEMA it's apparently a well developed and flashiful story. And that's what I'm going for - I want to hear Scottish (lol) Vikings, I want to hear Gerrard Butler, and I want to see some awesome scaly pets.

Defeats the point IMO. The critics are saying "see this in 3D" and I definitely want to see it like that, but what costs you $10 for a non-3D ticket (?) costs $15 for me over a normal $7 general admission ticket. Split amongst three people...that's $21 bucks more. Enough to go eat dinner!
