Well, I just got my S3V1, but... I didn't have money for it in my account :O So um... what the hell?

Individual disc covers no longer have character art, but boy are they sick :F

So I hopped out of the shower and I saw the package sitting on my desk that I wasn't expecting until tomorrow...

...and suddenly, like a little fanboy, I forgot all about my money troubles and excitedly opened my package.

Lesson: Nerdiness wins over real life stress.

That all said, I'm loving the design of this season more than any so far. Even if the disks no longer have individual art, I have to agree that the shiny "Luffy's Pirates" label is a really nice touch.

Check your status on Rightstuff. If it says "order received", you'll be getting it soon. Or it may also say "on backorder".

I think most people covered all the changes. The opening dialogue for 144 has been changed I'm assuming to coincide with the last DVD set. I never saw it though so I can't tell you for sure if that's what they said or not.

Luffy's "That's one punch he'll never forget" line has been changed to "That was easy to find" (in reference to the gold) which is what i believe he said in the original. Of course now Sarquiss "I'll show you a punch!" line doesn't make as much sense but :P

As already said Robin doesn't call anyone by their names.

and of course everything is uncut now :P
But so far it looks very enjoyable. Sorry I can't get clips because my DVD player on my computer seems to be broken :( But I'm sure someone will get clips soon.

Y'know, I think similar to the type of discussion that's on my "Study of Animation" topic when I get the set tommorrow I'm going to actively try to compare each episode to the CN version (and if anyone wants to already get the ball rolling on this be my guest) so we have a nice handy dandy reference to what was altered and changed between the versions. I think something like this was done when Funi redubbed the Freeza Saga orange boxes on some "other" forum and it would be a nice way to continue a discussion while also putting revised information out there.

    Just an idea.

Boy, Justin Cook's Bellamy is really forced.

Well, all of his roles are forced (sans maybe Yûsuke), so...

Really? I liked it a lot, I thought it was better than the original.

I noticed Luffy's line about what Jaya was like in Episode 144 was altered a bit. In the old dub he said "I bet the food there's delicious" but in the DVD he says "I hear it's the island of meat!" Little things like that really stand out to me for some reason. It helps that I've seen the dubbed version of these episodes just a few months ago so some original lines are stuck in my head.

I really enjoyed the commentary (anyone else hear it yet?). I agree with what Mike said about how Colleen's voice had changed. There's a bunch of moments I've found where Colleen's Luffy reached almost Chopper levels of a high pitch.

Seems like they are really paying attention to changing the little details for the sets, and that makes me very happy. They deserve some extra praise for that.

AND YOU CAN ALL TAHNK ME! WHERE IS MY PRAISE FOR THIS!

    kidding
But I love the subtle little changes, but the funny thing is, only us OP fans would really and truly notice :P So it's nice to know they're really delivering for us fans.

How I envy you all and your early shipping. Maybe if I'm lucky FYE will have S3V1 on the shelves early.

In what episode does ending 10 start? Because it's not on the DVD.

EDIT: 157. So, first episode of the next set.
