I'm not stubborn, I'm practical! I only own the Collections, and they look so nice together, so naturally I would want to continue getting them! One Piece was off my radar when the Voyages were coming out, so I really couldn't have started with them. I don't mind the wait, I've already waited this long, what's a bit more?

You missing a couple great things for not buying the voyages sets. I like the cover art for Season 3 is awesome then what the collections are getting. And I rather have thin packs which the voyages have then having all the discs on top each which the collections have. And its good idea to buy Season 4 as comes out, since we don't know if Funi is even going to continue the show after season 4 or not. Like many of the people in this thread buy season 4 as comes out.

whos to say they'll continue the collections if the season 4 voyages don't sell well enough? It could be years before you get your collections , think about that and stop being impractical. In my opinion anyone who doesn't buy these voyages and just waits around years and years waiting for the collections was never a true fan of the dub!

surely not. They should at least have 12 episodes on the set, preferably 13 like many of the others. I'll still buy it regardless but hated the fact the last voyage for season 3 had only 10 eps.

No it'll be 11-12 eps. No 13 or 14 episode sets because they have 58 episodes for the season and will likely stretch to 5 Voyages. I'm thinking 12 because that'll be enough to stick Afro Luffy in the end and because it makes sense they'd want to put as many as possible in the first set.

This might be a little off topic from the Season 4 discussion, but I will say it anyways.
I prefer the format (case and disc) of the Collections over the Voyages. The artwork on the voyages was better, but I didn't like the thin packs and the cardboard.

Right now I am trying to catch up on buying the collections as it is.

I'm more than certain that the Voyages sold just fine without me, and they released 3 Collections without me chipping in. Plus with all the hype around season 4, they may even sell better. I'm being perfectly rational, you're kinda freaking out a little bit

Your opinion is wrong. I absolutely love the dub, so much so that I want my collection of it to be one of the grandest things that I have on my shelves. In order to do that, all the sets need to match. Had I started on the Voyages, I would be collecting them and feeling angry at the Collections as the Voyages are more expensive in the long run.

well its up to you. But if you love the dub as much as you say you do you'd surely rush out n grab the voyages. Who knows? Perhaps the collections won;t be released for years , as funi will be too busy aquiring later seasons. I certainly hope that is the case.

There is more of chance be three sets of 12 episodes and two sets of 11 episodes for Season 4.

There's something you can do, Zek: buy it now, sell it later. There's always a chance your investment will triple later on like with S2V5, but at the very least you likely can get around what you paid for it, especially if you use the discount at RightStuf.

We're pushing this because, despite what you may think, every sale does count, every person who get's their friends interested and gets them to buy a copy counts, and what counts the most is getting a sale on day one, not sloppy seconds years down the line. So please, make your interest matter now, not later, because it does matter.

Shift put it better than I could have.

And the latest Podcast episode really has me hyped for Season 4 Third Voyage, when we'll be getting Luffy vs. Usopp. Mike talks about directing Sonny for those episodes and how he would have him do many takes to make the turn of Usopp's character as significant and emotional as the Japanese. He also says lots of new Water 7 people instead of recycled VAs all around. And again a tease for Foxy's VA, with Chris, Brina, and Mike saying they love his voice.

I can't wait for a lot of the stuff for Season 4. I mostly can't wait for Paulie.

He will be. It was already confirmed he got the role over a month ago.

Hopefully we'll know who that is on Thursday when FUNimation gives an announcement to the Elite subscribers. I'm also hoping we get these episodes streamed before the DVD release. Seasons 4 and 5 are the ones I've never actually seen before. I started regularly watching the show at Thriller Bark.
