Hiroy Descriminates Art once Again ver2

It seems like a simple process, but I gotta learn it. Otherwise, I'll just draw everything.

The thing that's going to be the big challenge, is dailouge. I think I can do this with simple Flash. I don't know the best way to describe it, but it goes like this.

It's like a game in where a character is talking, and you press the button to continue the words of dialogue in a text box. That's pretty much all I want to learn.

Syn is a gamer? Somehow I know I shouldn't be surprised. Mildly shocked, but not surprised. She must play a lot for her dreams to be... ah, what's the word? Influenced by them~

Partially influence. Dreams in this comic's universe has a unique set rules and has similarities to life's rules(which are unique in itself as well). Without saying much, everyone has their own dream planet with different inhabitants and scenery. These are made up of things that influence a character's growth and development in the real world(also grants different abilities if the laws of that world allows it).

Syn's nightmares are a different case. She's not actually on her own Dream Planet, so in that way...she never really has good dreams. She's actually in something drifting in dream space and it's entirely made up of nightmares.

It's a neat little concept all my characters share. While some may come from other worlds or comics, they all dream within the same realm(but separated).

Oh, wow, that sounds really freakin' cool! I hope you can create this in some way; I'd really love to see it. How on earth did you come up with that idea? (Dream space... now that sounds so awesome)

It originated from this old comic idea I had in where the main character is dreaming about his childhood, but he isn't aware that he's dreaming(I didn't write whether or not he was sleeping, in coma or really dead). It's like he can remember his adulthood, but only in bits and pieces. The problem I encountered was the inhabitants. Like childhood friends becoming reoccurring characters. Since the events in the dreams didn't happen in the real world(or "wake up" world), I didn't want the dream residents to be mixed up with the wake up residents. Then I wanted the idea to work for everyone that exists in the "wake-up" world, since I didn't find it fair that the only the main character had such an thing.

From there I thought about out own universe. Like we being on planet with almost no way to see what's beyond it. I though it would have been cool if dreams worked the same way. It's a realm where anything can happen for any individual, but it doesn't mesh or mix in with different people since everyone has thier own separate planet. Then I worte some terminolgies so things are organized.

-Dream Planet: (you know what it is now)
-Dreamer: Basically the creator of the planet, even though some Dreamers end up being "born" in separate locations.
-Wake up world: Basically the Dreamer's reality.
-Dream Residents: These are inhabitants like animals, humans or creatures that appear in dreams. Can be shaped from people the Dreamer met in the wake up world. Cannot be changed or altered.
-Nightmares: These normally show up on sections in planet. They originally collide with Dream Planets in the from of meteorites and do things to change the Dreamer's personality. There are cases in there Nightmare fully take control of the Dreamer's planet or personality in reality. Laws also inists that Nightmares are not entitled into having dreams of their own. It's a taboo that kinda pisses some of them off since Dream Residents are entitled to becoming or having Nightmares themselves.

There's a bit more, but that's the basic idea.

Sorry for the delay. I just got new materials and have been experimenting with different ones. And.. I think I should stop using blurs filters. I tried 3 different methods on the last 3 and they all don't seem to match the thing I was going for. But I did pick up on new tone methods. Which are really good compared to the earlier ones.

Now I'm working a an art trade and a commission. I should be done with one or both today.

Seeing Evi have those interactions with Syn is super cute.
Despite all the grown up demeanor, she is still a doodling kid afterall. It just needs Syn to tickle it out :)
Also I'm loving Syn more and more, her extreme imagination is hilarious, although slightly scary haha

And whatever did you do at part 23? It looks extremely clean and super neat to look at!
Especially the part where Todd looks at Evi like a moron and she pulls a disgusted face and the one where Syn is doodling.
Whatever you did there do it again! it looks great!
But just for the record: Todd creeps me the hell out hahaha A super pervy artist in the making.

And to answer Syn's question, I for one, can't wait to see part 25 ;)

By the power of Gayskull! I have the Poowwweer!!

And yeah. For part 23, I used some slight blurs for things that fall within the backgound while keeping everything like small facial details and and foreground sharp. But I didn't really know how "right" it looked compared to adding no filters at all. That and I thickened the lines a bit more to have that Calvin and Hobbies feel. There much I could have done to make this page look better, but I didn't feel like redrawing the whole page again. It came out fine, except for the blur filter taking away so much details(this time I decided to see how it would look if I only kept the text sharp and not the art).

Thanks for the insight though. And thanks for the compliments. Evi and Syn are like sisters that constantly go at it with eachother, even though Syn's approaches are more cunning. Like she's a natural troll.

Oh man, I've been away from the forums for a bit, but I'm glad to see you've been keeping busy with your art, Hiroy! I've just finished browsing through the latest pages and--what's this??--our dear Evi has an interest in drawing~? And is touchy about it? Aww, that's pretty sweet! It's a fun contrast to her haughty demeanor--and I love her enraged expressions, haha! Her and Syn have such a great chemistry, I love seeing the two of them interacting. Can't wait to see part 25...and on a personal note, I miss my Leo! Where's my favorite scaredy cat, huh?! ^^

Well, its more of an assignment to kill time than an actual interests. But she does like it, even though she demand some sort of praise or honest attention. And yeah, Syn has chemistry with pretty much all the main characters. In different ways too. The last character intro is so ridiculous, that I can't wait to show you readers. It's hilarious.

Leo? He would come back at around the end of the arc. His spotlight is done for a short while, so for now I'll keep his presence a mystery(given his recent development). Don't worrty. I'll draw make some illustrations with Leo during the wait. Just for you and other Leo fans. He's well favored XD and I see why. Because 1. Only major male character(for now). 2. He's the most childish character so far.

Thanks spec. Don't worry yourself too much. The thread moved really quickly over the summer. I'm working on an easier format for the first page(that way newcomers don't have to go through the whole thread). I need need a bit more time.

Sorry for the lack of constant updates this month. There's so many things going on at once. First of and most importantly practicing with the style in Synful Syn a bit more. I forgot how to draw it for a short while. Maybe due to all those request to build and audience on another site. Anyway, I cannot show that style related stuff. Even on my sketchblog. But I would show this:
