Thread: The "Shueisha" Thread

  1. #14781

    Default Re: The "Shueisha" Thread

With One Piece and My Hero Academia it's hard to justify another battle series.

Yeah, Bozebeast seems good, but by this point Naruto was still top tier, Bleach was good, Toriko had just defeated and eaten a crocodile of the size of a whale, and Deku had done his training montage and was deemed worthy of One for All. I might remember the holy machine gun for a while but is that enough?

Bozebeats is really good and it is getting good reception from Japan as well. Many people are saying like, "Oh it is action series again. Nothing special," but they have to admit that it is best written series by newbies these years (I even feel like the author isn't even a newbie); even much better than BC. So, I have really high hope for this series.

For Act-Age, I can give praise for both the authors and Jump for challenging new genre. Except that, it is kind of weak on overall set-up of the series (like the director won the awards in all of Cannes, Venice, and Berlin; but nobody knows him. Is this even possible?), even expression on the MC's acting is kind of confusing. So, at this rate, this series not able to get good reception.

However, the important thing is that both Bozebeats and Act-Age are completely being overshadowed by Jigokuraku (new series from Shounen Jump+) right now.

Looking the raw of the last Spring Weapon chapter, it really gives the "ending" vibe, in the last 2 chapters the manga just turned into a serious battle shounen with drama and backstories lol

Hmm, something is happening with last Hunter x Hunter volume, is selling quite less, vol 34 (June 26) with 14 days was already with 1 million while vol 35 with 17 days didn't even reach 900k yet, strange...

And looks like Saiki is ending in issue 13 lol

Robot x Laserbeam at the bottom...

It seems this is the end, perhaps it will be canceled in the next round.

So Saiki isn't ending according Yonkouprod but we will have new series starting the next issue.

About Robot x Laserbeam, too soon to predict a cancellation, Gintama is ending very soon, Spring Weapon maybe too, HxH can go back to hiatus leaving 1 spot free and Act-Age or Bozebeats can be a failure, these are already more than enough to save Robot, and the good sales, but yeah, the situation isn't looking really good to Fujimaki.

Edit: lol Saiki actually ended in this issue, but in the issue 14 a "Saiki 4-koma" by the same author will start.
