On the argument about nihilism, my take is, the reason nihilists haven't killed themselves is because...well, that is their instinct. Our instinct. To survive. As a specie.

Question for someone who knows a little Heidegger; Can someone inhere explain "throwness", if you can please? Thank you very much.

It's a really cool concept.
I learned lots of awesome perspectives, just to forget them and act with my impulse. My rational consciousness has lost interest in basically anything in the world.

Hmmm I heard it somewhere else used differently. I geuss you can't just have an easy answer when talking about these concepts. I'll simply have to go study some Heidegger. Thanks!

Are you studying in a class, or just reading up for fun? Because if it's the latter, chronological order is always really important in grasping philosophies fully.
Oh just for fun. And I found an introduction to philosphy talking about it. If I understood it well, like you said it's the aspect that we're thrown into this world without any kind of personal choice playing a role in it, and we make it bearable because we accept that as a fact (that's why it's also called facticity).

What! Where?
I can't say I know what hedonism is supposed to be. But if you define hedonism as: the goal in life is to have pleasure; then I have some gripes with it.
The thing is: What does the hedonist think about someone who dies before he ever got the chance to have pleasure; Was that human's life worthless?

Guro manga is full of such nihilistic hedonism.
Well, not every nihilistic concept rejects morals. Besides, why would a nihilist want to kill himself? Life is as meaningless as death to him so there wouldn't be anything to gain.
If you have no will to live, the obvious result is you will die.Besides, why would a nihilist want to kill himself? Life is as meaningless as death to him so there wouldn't be anything to gain.
Why would a nihilist wants to eat and finds a job if the person doesn't find any meaning in living?
Well, instinct.
We fail as a specie when we start to prefer what's harmful to us.

Moral nihilism, to be specific.Well, not every nihilistic concept rejects morals.
I haven't read up on Nietzsche for quite some time so do correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't it a part of being a nihilist to accept the meaninglessness and then create your own path with your will or something? Like a Greek God or something... And the ultimate goal to live life to the end with no regret?
And a nihilist do things only out of instinct right? Does that mean retaliation, acts of anger or happiness are out of the question? I mean that would be a reaction right?
Btw. Is it just me or are philosophers major hypocrites? Thinking Rousseau and his children here...

I won't bother posting the results, but I got 85% apathy. Probably a small sign of this is my avatar.

Unintentionally keeping everyone at a distance.
Say, does Charlie Sheen count as a Nietzsche Superman?

Nietzsche is not a nihilist. A nihilist doesn't try to perfect himself to give his life a meaning.
In fact, Ubermensch is Nietzsche's solution to save the world from the darkness of Nihilism.
Okay. :) Sorry if I wasn't clear but what I meant was if CS was Nietzsches kind of Superman or as you say more correctly Ubermensch.
Not that it matters or is that philosophical, just thought it was kinda funny that CS of all people seems fits the criteria for an Ubermensch. But yeah, I don't know enough about Nietzsches philosophy so maybe CS is just nihilistic.

There are no boring humans, only bad communicators.
I probably won't post much in this thread...I just like reading other peoples' thought, and not saying my own, in fear of making myself look like a fool.
But I guess I can post this.
