Third Round Discussion Thread

[Cyber-Robin]

Since it's about time to do so. Here are my personal guesses to who will win. Bolded is victor. Brackets is my vote (subject to change.)


01. Buggy vs (Rayleigh)

Buggy'll take it easy. Personally I think Rayleigh is one of the most coolest chars in the series. Besides. I like the Dark Night more than the Joker.

02. Dragon vs (Enel)
easy choice. Enel has a huge following and is pretty much awesome. Dragon is about 70% hype really. Still awesome tho.

03. (Garp) vs Going Merry

Finally Merry goes up against a real char. I love Merry but I love Garp even more.

04. Smoker vs (Arlong)

It'll take a lot for me to vote Smoker. However I'd imagine he'll win due to the badass vote.

05. (Ryuma) vs Whitebeard

Boring Swordsman vs Whose Ya Daddy
I thought WB to be all hype and no deliverance. Ryuuma was....well Ryuuma wasn't much better. He had another omake however. Which was nice. Never gonna vote WB unless he goes up against Croc or Zoro
06. (Kuma) vs Sengoku

Sorry Sengoku. While having an awesome Goat(and a Goatee) Kuma is just so much better

07. (Chopper) vs Gun Fall
Do I really need to say why?

08. Bon Kurei vs (Crocodile)
Bon was awesome and beat Sanji. As well as being an all-around awesome dude.... Croc was awesome back in Arabasta but I thought he sucked so much since. He has the fangirl vote however so he'll win.
09. (Robin) vs Bellemere

Tragic Past vs Tragic Past. Robin has the Mugiwara vote and the hotness vote.

10. Moria vs (Shanks)
Moria is just that damn awesome. However Shanks is hugely popular. Would love to see an upset tho.

11. Norland vs Bepo

Don't know. Don't care. Only match I care so little for either char that I'm not voting in. I guess....Bepo?

12. Magellan vs (Luffy)
Luffy. Easy choice. While Magellan is just downright awesome. I can't go against Luffy. The best one to knock out Croc or WB from winning
13. (Hiriluk) vs Hannybal

Another one of downright awesomeness. It's gonna pain me to kick out Hannybal but it's for Chopper's Mentor/Santa. How can I vote against Santa!?
14. (Roger) vs Brook
Roger, while giving us One Piece plot. Also spawned us Ace. Brook has been nothing but awesome since introduced.
15. Mihawk vs (Zoro)
NEXT!
16. (Nami) vs (Usopp)
Love them both to bits. While I'd love to see another girl get to round 4 I don't want Usopp gone either

Boy, these are some tough matchups.

My votes and predictions for Round 3:

01. Buggy vs Rayleigh
I like both of them, will probably decide by campaigns. Still think that Buggy will win this one, though.

02. Dragon vs Enel
Dragon all the way. But I suspect Enel will win this.

03. Garp vs Going Merry
My vote goes to the awesome gramps. And he will most probably also advance to the next round.

04. Smoker vs Arlong
That's a tough one. I'm not sure whom to vote or who will prevail.

05. Ryuma vs Whitebeard
Whitebeard's got this one in the bag.

06. Kuma vs Sengoku
Again a tough competition, but my vote will go to Kuma.

07. Chopper vs Gun Fall
I care for neither of them, will vote Gun Fall because of a mild anti SH policy. But I still think Chopper will advance.

08. Bon Kurei vs Crocodile
The matchup of the round. I will vote and root for Bentham.

09. Robin vs Bellemere
My mild anti SH policy does not apply to Robin (hence mild). On the other hand, Bellemere is one of the best flashback characters. This will be tough.

10. Moria vs Shanks
Shanks. No question. Was never a big Moria fan.

11. Norland vs Bepo
I'll vote for Bepo. This could turn out to be quite interesting...

12. Magellan vs Luffy
Magellan is among my favourite characters, so I will support him while he's going down.

13. Hiriluk vs Hannybal
Hiriluk, easy choice.

14. Roger vs Brook
No idea, I'll let the campaigns decide for me.

15. Mihawk vs Zoro
Although Zoro is my favourite SH, I have a very hard time voting against Mihawk. We'll see.

16. Nami vs Usopp
Again, no idea. This is a case for campaigns.

All in all I think this is going to be one hell of a round. Looking forward to it!

I think it depends on whether people are going to turn it into another couples thing. the match really turned into a LuffyXNami thing after a while and that probably wasn't the best route since it wasn't really about their actual relationship towards each other.

Good thing is, people can't use Luffy as an edge this time.

Cause Usopp is close to him as well. And that also exists as a pairing, so if some people want to tread that path....

In retrospect...Nami beat Law by one vote, and Usopp beat Mr. 3 by 100 votes, so that should say something.

Most characters (and members) want to Kill Vivi, so maybe not, though.

I think it depends on whether people are going to turn it into another couples thing. the match really turned into a LuffyXNami thing after a while and that probably wasn't the best route since it wasn't really about their actual relationship towards each other.

That was my only gripe with the Nami match. Although Chopper had the Dr. Dick campaign at one point.

Maybe we can all work together and bring us NamixUsopp. That would have everyone confused!
