I wish I could help but I'm probally going to retire playing this game. I'm just not going to put up with "you know who" this time around.

04. Smoker vs Arlong
A ruthless hardcore villain versus a justice junkie? Saw fish man to me.

Because of the lack of good places to find OP I dn't feel like finding all the pics to support this theory but I think Smoker originally looked up to Roger as he saw him executed. But the sudden influx of piracy became less about searching the unknown and more about getting rich quick. A lot of low lifes searching for get rich schemes started causing havoc on the seas. His disgust for these new pirates made him decide to ally himself with the Marines to control these reckless "new age" pirates. He still holds some of his old ideas though represented in his disregard for authority, abstaining from alabaster after being saved by Zoro on Luffy's orders and the ambigious source of the rain in Alabaster marking the end of the war. (Was Croc drying the land preventing it from raining and rain because of Croc's down fall or did smoker use the illegal powder.) We'll probably never be given a direct answer.

His "justice" is different from Akainu's despite their similar stubborn natures.

I think he chases Luffy with a mix of pride at losing his immaculate record when he took over the post in Mock Town and his dissonance created from his childhood fantasies and what he has accepted as reality which Luffy contradicts. He's projecting his internal conflict in his chase for Luffy. Because if it were really all about "justice" he'd be hunting numerous pirates rather than chasing a single man for a personal vendetta -- especially doing so outside his jurisdiction and authority.

Normally I'd disregard any notion of analyszing the depths of manga, but Oda has shown to apply great detail in his work and characters. (Including the nameless back ground characters who show up in only a few panal of an arch.) Because of that, I wouldn't be surprised if Oda went into detail for each characters history and basis for their personality and ambitions.

Whether I'm right or wrong would be impossible to verify however =/. So it's just a half-ass theory.

This round seems really interesting, especially the Shanks vs. Moria and the Mihawk vs. Zoro.

Remember that a vote for Shanks is a vote for shanking.

despite my backing Enel, i'm being completely honest in saying Dragon has not proved himself to me.

He's literally a far off asteroid speeding to earth to, when the time comes, FINALLY blow our freaking minds and planet up.

until then, he's luffy's dad in the background, waiting to be built up.


maybe next year Dragon. But i'll be surprised if he steps out from behind his curtain THEN too
