Just read the most recent chapter...
I regret doing so.

As far as we've seen that's not how it works.
Without being around the same general area in strength any damage from being done is pretty much null and void. It's why:
-Ichigo couldn't scratch an eyepatched Kenpachi deliberately lowering his guard at the beginning of their fight before drawing spirit energy directly from Zangetsu.
-Rukia's Tsugai no Mai: Hakuren did nothing to Grimmjow even when taken by surprise.
-Sado's La Muerte had no effect on Nnoitra.
There's more examples, but it'd just show how ridiculous things have gotten.![]()

It's too bad Kubo's art is wasted on such a stupid fight sequence. I'm honestly saying I like some of the shots in this chapter, but the actual progression of this fight is pretty stupid. It's a battle to see who evolves the greatest and who can best who... >>
Where did the Aizen that I respected as a villain run off to? He's been reduced to your typical Bleach psychopath.
Well, hopefully the Final Getsuga Tenshou won't disappoint...
So the whole "I planned your whole life" and "I want Ichigo to get stronger" stuff, are these things just never going to be explained? By the looks of things Aizen really might get defeated soon... They'll probably just fall into the plot hole realm or be explained away by Kubo with "He lied", but come on, you can't bring up something ridiculous like all that and not have it lead somewhere. But, it is Kubo we're talking about!
If the Final Getsuga works and Aizen is owned, we're left with more plot holes. If it fails, Ichigo's training would then become pointless.
Any other scenario arising at this point would just look like Kubo pulling something out of his ass to get him out of a tight corner.
I think we can all agree this fight will suck no matter which direction it takes.
Definetely agreed.Originally Posted by chopperrules
Aizen and his shikai is a bit like Sasuke and his sharingan; a pure lose -lose situation because the power is so horrible.
-Aizen uses haxx illusions to great effect-->
"oh crap, not this again!"
-Aizen loses because he refused to use his most potent weapon -->
"What the hell? Why didn't he go all out?"
The only possible third route I see is that Aizen does try his illusions, but Ichigo somehow counters them...either through touching his sword before it releases, as learned by reading Gins heart or something, or by keeping his eyes closed and fighting on saying arrogant stuff like "I don't need my eyes to beat you Aizen, You are so boring"......
It's a three-way lose-lose-lose situation

Ok, I think I need to make up what is the extend of Aizen's power.
Point 1.- Without his shikai, he is astronomicaly strong. He destroyed Komamura with an instantly casted level 90 kidou spell. He also stopped his Bankai with 0 effort. He owned all the captains with raw speed and strength. And he destroyed Urahara, Yoruichi and Ishin without his shikai. Right?
Point 2.- He used his shikai in battle in his Momo stunt...and? Any other instance of his shikai ability being used in actual battle?
So. . . Is it me, or is his ability actualy being really downplayed? Or are all this feats of EXTREME strength, speed and kidou power all a part of his shikai¿?¿? Is he maybe a weak ass shinigami that makes everyone believe he is absurdly strong with his shikai?? Am I losing something here???
Since he transformed, Aizen didn't use his shikai. I wouldn't be surprised if we learn he is now unable to do it.

Going by the anti-crist theme that Aizen has been playing on so far I guess he is really finished.
The prophecy says that the beast will try to impersonate god through miracles (hogyoku magic) and assume a form which resembles that of god (Seraph butterfly).
However once the real saviour shows up displaying power that the beast cannot cope with it will assume it's true form that is of a SEVEN HEADED DRAGON before being defeated and cast into the abyss of oblivion.
The prophecy also said that the beast would get mortally wounded but heal and survive (which was what happened when Gin stabbed Aizen).
So far we saw the Fake Prophet (Tosen) who would come and spread the greatness of the Fake Messiah (Aizen) who sought to attain the throne of god through the use of illusions (Kyoka Suigetsu) and corrupt evil magic (Hogyoku) that he sold as miracles.
However there is one last part of the prophecy which has yet to come into play...
Behind the Fake Prophet and the Fake Messiah was the Demon Lord who completed the unholy trinity and was by far much stronger than the other two.
This means that behind Aizen was someone far more powerful who taught him how to deceive others and seek forbidden powers to dethrone the Soul King.
