I see. Well.........can't speak for everyone, but here's my opinion of Hitsugaya.

I don't hate the guy, but he's far from being a favorite of mine. I just think he doesn't deserve all the popularity he gets, because if you think about it, he's as generic as Ichigo or Aizen. Perhaps even more so.

Plus he rages, just to fail.

Well, when I started watching Bleach I was not around on any forums, so I didnt really get the gist of Histu's popularity.
What I see in him? Well the fact that he's the only kid in the G13, I have a weakness for prodigys (the legit ones, Ichigo doesnt count), e.g Edward Elric. Some of my fav parts of the SS arc (among many others) was the whole Hitsu being the only one not really caring about Ichigo and the gang and snooping around to see if his suspicion was correct and he ends up being one of the first ones to "see Aizen".
I also really like Hyourinmaru, and see a lot of potential in his strength, and look forward to see his growth.
Did I mention that I love his design, the shorty with bright turquoise eyes and white hair. People may say that his powerups are just as random as Ichigo's, but I dont think so, since he actually works hard (and continues too) and he doesnt always win like Ichigo! (in fact he's lost mostly ALL his fights)
His back story is nice and sweet too, and although I do agree that his fangirls are annoying, I also think that his haters (not necessarily on this forum) are annoying too.
You know im not talking about you guys, since you know, I think APforums is one of the most intelligent anime forums I'm a apart of.
Hitsugaya may be bland in some ways but c'mon Bleach is no One Piece, ALL the characters are really bland and generic, so hating a character for being "bland" or "generic" in bleach isnt really an argument. IMO

Also, thanks for asking for my opinion, (other forums would literally start bashing me as a person if I said I was a Rukia or Hitsu fan) another reason why I love you guys!

Well, heck, now I feel kinda bad about posting my opinion. You're a Hitsugaya fan, and not one of the overly obsessive ones. Props.

Then again, I'm not usually the type to diss someone's opinion. But hey, you gave your reasons in detail, so fair is fair.

Well......shoot. I've noticed, people seem to either dislike Rukia but like Orihime, or like Rukia and dislike Orihime.

(Or just hate both, but there's no reason to argue semantics.)

Why I hate Hime?

Her development has been a huge circle, she doesnt seem to notice Ishida, and she's an insult to women, her involvment in to Arrancar arc felt forced and her importance was all of a sudden dropped when she could have been developed so much more (half of that is Aizen's fault lol). I also found her, as the maiden in distress, a lot more "generic" than Rukia, since Rukia actually fights back trying to protect everyone while Hime was all like "even though I wanted to protect everyone because my kidnappers are super strong, please save me Ichigo from these super strong guys who I wanted to protect you from." I could rant on and on about her, but I dont really like posting long posts about characters I dont like.
She was better in the SS arc but HM ruined her IMO.
Plus, her boob loving fanbase, liking her only because she has boobs (not saying all of her fans are like that, that would be idiotic), but hate on Rukia cause she DOESNT have boobs like Hime get on my nerves.
No offence to those who like her. And I am not bashing others opinions. :)

Edit: I actually like Yorouchi and Ken-Chan a lot too. There needs to be more Yachiru and Ken-Chan interaction in the story!! Who is with me?

Btw, did Yachiru ever fight? I think I recall seeing this one manga shot of Yachiru about to draw her Zanpakuto and I never found out what that's from. Honestly, I'd rather skip all the crap and only read the chapters that have my favorite characters.

And nah, Yachiru never openly fought. Closest thing to that was her scaring a messenger off with her reiatsu after Ichigo beat Kenpachi.

Yachiru never faught, nor did she release her zan, but she scared the hell out of a shinigami (who was trying to tell her what to do) with her reitsu. (I loved that part).
Sigh... I miss Yachiru.
