-One Piece: The lovable BMOC, he doesn't try to be but he just knows how to do everything right.
-Naruto: I think someone else said it best: he's a little strange and wore out his welcome, but won the foreign hottie.
-Bleach: A guy who arrived first day on campus in the chicest clothing with the coolest slang knowing everything...but ultimately turned out to be the ultimate poser who makes himself look important but in actuality is a complete loser who rather just stick with the outside than tell you about his failing grades and that no one likes him back home.
-Gintama: The loner weirdo who smokes a lot of weed and actually knows a lot more than he's letting on...an image of the teacher from "Animal House" comes to mind.
-Reborn: A weird friend you came in to college with that seemed alright...but then discovered girls and Bleach's styling closest...now all they want to do is appease them instead of doing what they really should.
-Toriko: The ultimate party guy: eats a lot, has a good time and actually knows quite a bit if you get past the fact that he's an utter slob.

Wish I knew more about the rest of the magazine...somehow I have images of "Beezlebub" being the guy who wants to be cool but seems like a loser being stuck a babysitter, "Nurarihyon no Mago" being the goth-chic guy, "Sket Dance" as the pot-head's more "gotten together, mischievous" friend and "Medaka Box" being the girl who you think is super-hot and is really busty but is also somewhat strange...but I don't know enough about those to say.

Heck, I haven't read much of it (the first volume and everything since about the point where the shrimp went to get a new knife) but all I know from what I read is this: Toriko is probably more original in it's pinky than Bleach's whole body of work.

I like how Bleach is getting so boring we are talking about Toriko. That's something I endorse.

But anyways, on more on topic stuff I've been thinking about the concept of fullbring. It's not a bad concept in theory. If there were consistent and balanced rules for it's use (which there obviously isn't) the idea of using "souls in objects" really isn't that bad of a concept.

Hell, if this were a good series, I'd be willing to believe one could obtain these powers by having a parent survive a hollow attack.

Of course, this being Bleach and all, it is nothing but wasted potential. Sigh.

Sadly I've noticed Kubo isn't one who plans things out, even his battle styles to the point he has to change how or why it exists week after week. I mean, even if it was merely a fusion of JoJo's Stands and YYH's Territories, at least straighten it out and write rules for it before introducing it so you don't screw it up with every new word you say about it.

I'm not saying being a mangaka who writes for week-to-week is bad, but if you want to write a series like Bleach's, you need to set ground rules to go by so you don't screw them up. Heck, even Kishi, as bad as he can get, does show he can at least set up a battle system and stick with the rules he made for it instead of just making up new ones week after week.
