    Great comeback!
I thought there’s no way US is climbing out of that 2-1 hole, with the clock running down so fast, and Brazil killing time.
Then that beautiful placed cross-field lob from Rapinoe to Wambach, and it was on all over again!
Into the PKs and win! This gave them the momentum they need to face Les Bleus, can’t wait.

Today back to Copa America; Mexico - Uruguay should be interesting.

Sergio Batista followed my advice and played the best starting 11 Argentina could use.
I'm glad to see Argentina succeeding, just wish Messi would accept his role as playmaker rather than attempting to score every freaking game and losing the ball.

Aguero deserves the love he's getting, pass the ball to Aguero and he scores, the team winning is more important than Messi scoring.

Really good game between USA and France right now.

O'Reilly - Cheney goal was a beaut. Just really well done.

And Solo has been doing a great job. A really great job.

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

    Great first half.

USA needs to get their act together, by the end of the first half, France was easily outplaying them.

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

Beautiful comeback by USA. After being completely outplayed for most of the second half Wambach's goal breathed life back into this team.

    Hoping Japan beats out Sweden.

Did anyone see that last Japanese goal?

My god, that was easily the best goal of the tournament.

That goal was a thing of fucking beauty, but Abby's header vs Brazil is still top goal for me.

I think that was the best miracle moment, but skill wise I liked the last goal in the Japan V Sweden match more.

There have been some really good goals in the quarterfinals in semis though all around.

Even though I am pro USA in the final I would not be sad if Japan pulls it off and win the entire thing. I mean, a couple members of the Japanese team were in the air flying home when the earthquake hit and many of them weren't in the country so this would be huge for them and Japan if they beat the U.S.

Cannot wait for Sunday and I will say it right now, either Sawa or Abby Wambach will make the game winning goal or set it up for their team.

Anyone here follows the Copa America? Really interested to know what other people think will happen now that the quarter-finals are decided.
Hoping that now that's it's do-or-die Argentina plays like they should, especially since now they're playing Uruguay who is not as easy an opponent as Costa Rica. Also unsure of whether to root for Chile or Venezuela, both have done fantastic so far.

Haven't been able to watch the Copa America due to being busy but now that the quarterfinals have started I will probably watch it.

Also, Man U destroyed the New England Revolution tonight with Federico Macheda having two pretty great goals. Nice to see that he has repaid Sir Alex with some sign that he won't be a soccer fluke after the awesome season he had for United Under 18 squad (and of course the great game he had in the 2010 MLS All Star Game

I got tickets for tomorrow night's LA Galaxy vs Real Madrid game. While all the ladies swoon over Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham will be showing up his former team

I really hope Messi steps it up after having a pretty horrible first round

Forlan and Lugano are good players, but, Argentina will beat Uruguay.

    Yeah, I agree.

Also, I know Argentina is doing pretty good with their new coach, but man I miss Maradona and his on/off-field antics when he was the coach

As long as Argentina steps things up they can win, their group round was just terrible. The only thing that broke their curse was their first goal against Costa Rica, and after that they loosened up and played the way Argentina should play. I think Messi should just play with the team instead of looking for the goals Aguero is making.
(Ugh, Maradona as coach ... best not to mention that again, those were dark times.)

Regardless, Uruguay is a good match-up. Brasil and Paraguay also should be a good match, they're traditionally strong teams and last time they played they tied, so it's interesting to see what will happen now.

Tomorrow (today where I am) is Colombia vs. Peru. Rooting for Colombia since they've had a clean slate so far. Let's hope they keep it up.

I went to the Columbus vs San Jose match yesterday, and boy was that a let down. It ended 0-0, and the referee was letting players jump in the air and flail without doing anything, if we didn't have Hesmer our team would have lost. It didn't help that the sun a bitch the entire match and I forgot sunscreen, plus I was wearing an AC Milan jersey and people were looking at me like I was an idiot. Oh well, at least I have the Columbus VS Newcastle match to look foward too.

Oh and I'm glad that Uruguay beat Argentina, they played so terrible in the group stages that they deserved to get knocked out.

Uruguay beat Argentina...And now you have fans who want Maradona as coach again.

    Muslera saved the team BTW.

Probably, the opponent Uruguay will face will be Brazil, because, Uruguay against Paraguay would be boring.

    Ready for the big game.

At my local Buffalo Wild Wings, and I surprised at the turn out. The place is just as packed as it is for the Superbowl.
