Leon annoyed me because he wasn't really good at anything. By the time you got him, Firion, Maria, and Guy were all amazing powerhouses (Guy less than Firion and Maria, but still). Half of the guests that joined your team (Minwu, Leila, and Ricard) actually put up a better fight than Leon.
I still think it will be White Mage. Sledgehammer, dia magic, holy magic, and protect spells.I also would love to see who would be put in for I. I'm thinking Red Mage for Cosmos considering he can use both the black and white magical arts while Astos could be for Chaos considering he was the only other big villain in the game. Besides, if he does get added, he better have the royal robes.
Wasn't so much saying that 'why do you think he's a bad villain' as much as I was pointing out 'I can understand why he's highly admired'. Sephiroth has no personality, and that's why we both like several other villains more.
The general agreement is (if each game will have four representatives)...
FFIV Cosmos: Locke
FFVI Chaos: Ultros (hilariously awesome, but would be difficult) or the Emperor (which is stupid because he never fought).
Personally, I think it should be Celes on the Chaos side with Kefka controlling her.
Kain is pretty much in second place in terms of people who matter most to Cecil. Kain also has MASSIVE story importance due to being Cecil's best friend and Golbez's puppet.
I think that Kefka should be the top FF villian. Shimmy over to 2th Kuja!
I've said it before, but I doubt we'll get TWO new characters for each game. I mean, think about how overblown the roster will get. How will they hold ALL that character data, while still keeping the game as deep and filled with content as the first game, AND balance it worth a damn?
Hey now, just because a guy doesn't have some in-your-face quirks doesn't mean he has no personality.
S'not like the first game was completely balanced anyway..... I mean, think about how overblown the roster will get. How will they hold ALL that character data, while still keeping the game as deep and filled with content as the first game, AND balance it worth a damn?
....YES, THEYBETTERWILL TONE EXDEATH DOWN, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Meh, people are just thinking a-loud with the four character thing. It keeps a certain balance.
At the same time, someone on GameFAQs pointed something out. What if they had 'Cosmos', 'Chaos', and 'Neutral'.
Kain fits the 'Neutral' spot like a glove, and so would Gilgamesh and several other characters. It would just mean that several popular characters (like Yuna or Tifa) would not make the shot.
Theorized Neutral roster:
Hidden:
It could work. I could live with the above.
Okay, maybe he had personality, but he wasn't the most interesting person. He just had the look and action of a good villain.Hey now, just because a guy doesn't have some in-your-face quirks doesn't mean he has no personality.
I saw that list back in July, Insider
My predictions/wishlist for characters (going to assume each series gets one more character, FF11 and 12 get two more)
Mostly for fun. Not necessarily who has the best chance, nor who I want in most.
FFI- Matoya "The Seer"- Relies on her Crystal Eye to cast powerful spells
FFII- Leon "Mystic Specialist"- Uses magic on the ground, melees in the air
FFIII- Xamde "Time Mage"- Can wreck time and space with powerful magicks and geomancy.
FFIV- Kain "Dragoon"- Fights best in the air and unleashes powerful diving attacks
FFV- Gilgamesh "Master of Arms"- Gains more arms (in more ways than one) as battle continues
FFVI- Shadow "Shadowstalker"- Can become invisible and jam opponent targetting with unparelleled stealth
FFVII- Vincent "
FFVIII- Seifer
FFIX- Beatrix
FFX- Auron
-
FFXI- Adventurer???
FFXI- Shadow Lord
FFXII- Vaan, Balthier, or Basch
FFXII- Dr. Cid or Vayne
FFXIII- Lightning
FFXIII- Fang (Neutral, MAKE IT HAPPEN, S-E!!!!!!!)
FFXIII- Barthandelus or Cid
FFXIV- ???
In all honesty, Final Fantasy II gives everyone the chance to be balanced specifically in the skills of your choice. By the time you get Leon, you can practically power level his skills up to 8 before the real grind fest starts to sink in. I pretty much equip him with Genji armor (if I come across the Iron Giant in Pandemonium) or giant armor until he's built up a bit. I focus more specifically on the unarmed skill as it can do incredible amounts of damage in the higher levels and can pretty much save Leon from being completely useless. I also do this as I fight dragons in the Jade cavern as the regular baddies will just run in fear. Of course, any other player will just rush Pandemonium and be done with it. I like to be thorough in all my gaming. I can even make useless characters like Gordon be useful with the right tools.Originally Posted by Captain Schmeckie

That would be plausible actually. Kefka really is a hard act to follow and Celes does seem to have a self-conflicting attitude that could work.Personally, I think it should be Celes on the Chaos side with Kefka controlling her.
Dia magic only works on undead....
And Cecil could only be a Paladin, and never switch between both light and dark.
Yet....here we are....
@Kitsune. Really? I saw that list JUST today. Hell, I helped expand on it.
Duodecim means Twelve...
What does this mean?
Twelve....Final Fantasys? I have no freaking clue. Maybe FF11 is being discluded.
Gamefaqs.....man.....
I was just told that Vayne is the best villain of Final Fantasy, and that he is the only Final Fantasy villain that isn't two dimensional.
I can't feel my soul.
EDIT: On the sidelines, I'm having so much fun telling "Anti-Kain because Kain being in the game will lead to Cecil/Kain yaoi" people how it's pointless since yaoi will always thrive. I told them that a horrifying image of Bartz and ExDeath exists. And I promise you.....it DOES.
I'm having fun.
To Quote final fantasy wiki
"Locke Cole, Seifer Almasy, Yuna, Seymour Guado, Prishe, Vaan, and Balthier were all considered as candidates for Dissidia"
"Nomura has said that a potential sequel would include Kain Highwind, Gilgamesh, and Sazh Katzroy"
More then likely at least some of these charaters will be on the roster.
Hoo boy...
I should've guessed that Final Fantasy crossovers equals fat fanboy rage.
Where's the Twinkies to call them down?
Gamefaqs and Bleach forums tend to have this effect. I've only seen relevant and thoughtful stuff on gamefaqs when it comes to how to play. Quality of characters/stories is not apparently graspable by majority there. Exception being games like OoT that EVERYONE likes.
"Kain can't be in because Cecil fights like a Dragoon."
"I hope Zack gets in!"
"FFT is a spin-off, so it shouldn't get any characters..."
*same poster as above* "I hope Crystal Chron gets a character rep."
"Why are you saying 'Yunalesca', I want Seymour!"
"Why are you saying 'Seymour', I want Yunalesca!"
"I hope they get rid of Gabranth. Vayne is so much better."
It's like reading poison for the eyes. And I'm enjoying it.
EDIT: OOPS! Forogt my favorite. "Dirge of Cerebus was awesome! That's so why Vincent should be in D2!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh wow....
Seymour is one of the biggest villians in FFX, I'm not surprised he was considered even with his design.
Prishe is from FFXl.
I know, but Seymour is just....ugh...
Let's just say I'm glad Jecht got instead in the last one.
Ugh, there are so many people against FFT having a rep for the stupidest of reasons. I forgot this one too. "FFT is a spin-off of FFXII".
