I've just read this entire thread and I had to vote Shanks for without shanks there would be no strawhats. Luffy'd become some boring marine or just another crewmember in Ace's crew.
Bon's great and all but he is no shanks. He isn't as strong, he doesn't have the looks, he constantly gets powned even if it is to save his friends while shanks can stop a war between the 2 greatest powers, is the direct reason Luffy --> the future pirate king! has become a pirate, he is a yonkou, he like booze and parties and he is NOT a cross dresser.
