I actually think that her fights are interesting, partially because they happen so infrequently. And her powers are interesting, too. The only lackluster fight, IMO, was that bizarre Skypiea fight, but the Impact Dial finish was still satisfying.

EDIT: Jesus, all this Enies Lobby hate. I'm glad that the poll says otherwise, the Luffy vs. Lucci fight always ranks very high in the polls. Felt like Bleach, WTF? It was better than TB, and TB wasn't even that bad. One Piece is awesome.

Enies Lobby isn't getting so many votes because it's paired with water 7.

I somewhat understand that, and I understand that Water 7 is a better arc than EL.
But saying that EL is not the best arc, is different from saying it's trash.

I've been reading JoJo for awhile so I'm a bit fuzzy. What happened in Water 7?

All the good stuff that got concluded fairly poorly in EL.

If Water 7 was counted separately I think it would stand as the best arc in the entire series. Enies Lobby wasn't the worst but it was poorly paced and had far too much fodder fighting scenes and the anime adaptation exasperated all of these shortcomings.

Water 7 was extremely good yeah, though probably I'd still go for Jaya. And put Alabasta, Skypiea and Shabondy above W7.

Also damn good arcs but W7 had so much intrigue and it was the first time in which the crew actually felt like it was falling apart; first with the Going Merry then Robin's disappearance and culminating with the Luffy vs. Usopp fight. Shabondy seemed to try to replicate that same desperation/hard times feeling with Kuma pawing everyone, but it just didn't have the same impact to me whereas Usopp and Luffy fighting had a very relatable feeling to it. Shabondy gets bonus points for the intros of Rayleigh, slavery/Tenryuubito and the supernovas but I'd rank it on par with Alabasta maybe a little below. Alabasta was very good but it did have parts I didn't care for though it introduced possibly the best villain in all of part 1. Jaya was second best to me next to W7, the bar scene and the entire conflict with Bellamy was just really well executed and it maintained a sense of adventure as well.

The Bellamy conflict continues to be the best event in the whole series.

Oh, Water 7. That was a slow arc. Still good though. I thought the train segment was very creative on Oda's part.

People tend to put the train part in with EL.

The reason Eniss Lobby is always ranked so high is because the fights. Water 7 was good, I thought Rob Lucci vs. Paulie was good. Even though short lived.

Anyways I liked all the arcs, but the one I dislike the most has to be fishman island.

Water 7 was probably the best arc. Or at least, the best-written arc.
The characters actually felt like real people with real emotions.

Sabaody and Jaya are really the only comparable arcs in terms of quality.

    In what way?

I consider Luffy vs. Usopp to be the best individual moment in the series personally, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

Wait, now we're talking about what parts we did like. Wait, I'm perfectly fine with this.

Eh. I'd still have to side with Drum as the best overall arc. True Wapol could have been a little more of a threat, but he's easily one of the most downright vile villains to grace the story.

It also helps that I think BW is the best overall arc with Skypeia being a close second.
Thoughit really seems like Punk Hazard (As I have loved every second of it so far) has the potential to become one of the best arcs, and hopefully contribute to one of, if not, the best sagas.

    Wow, an older arc.
I'll have to reread it, I always interpreted the older arcs as standard shōnen fare, with enough One Piece magic to make it interesting.

Basically, yes. It had quite some 'simplicity' in themes up until Arlong Park. With that arc and afterwards came a significant rise in quality in terms of worldbuilding and character dynamics which (imo) happened again after Alabasta.

Edit: Lol, why did someone named TonyTheChopper vote for Drum?

Yeah. Water 7 will always be clear in my mind on a big signpost the best WRITTEN arc, but either Alabasta or Skypeia deserves the title of best arc in neon flashing lights in my mind.

I think Sabaody and Water 7 are the best arcs story-wise, Marineford and Enies Lobby had the best action and Skypiea and Thriller Bark had the best adventure and funny moments.

Everything before Water 7 is kind of typical, well-done, but predictable shounen adventure fare following the formula as much as it can. Everything after that besides Fishman Island tries to mix stuff up at least in some shape or form. There was no going back with Water 7, I think that's another reason why people don't like FI, while it is more complex than the East Blue arcs, it's still pretty basic, with no real surprises thrown in, more like the Baroque Works stuff.

I hate Fishman Island the most because the boring characters like the neptune family jamon and the lame drug taking fishman crew of hordy ,no really interesting story ,i just dont care about that island past and future just too lame arc for straw hats new rejoined ,i would have liked a little arc more like logue town
