Why do I see the Republican Party of America as nothing more than people who oppose (and wish to outlaw) abortion (even in cases of rape and incest), want everyone to carry a weapon (in turn, creating a modern Wild West), and believe homosexuals and transexuals should burn in fire and brimstone, and not have the right to defend the country they love?

Because the radical side of the party has grown in recent years and has become much more outspoken. A large part of this is attributed to the rise of the Tea Party, but that's not the entire story.

I'm not so sure about that post bringing you some heat. Some forums and other communities on the Internetz could ban you for being Republican or conservative, lmfao. I've seen it before. Not exactly the least hypocritical thing they can do but still.

Seriously, check the 2012 Election thread, almost everyone there identifies as Democrat, so don't worry about being attacked. But as one of the few Republicans here, allow me to comment. It's very much as Crossword said, the very conservative side of the party has begun coming out in force, and, as it often is, it is a very vocal minority. Please notice, that is was not Santorum who got nominated, but rather Romney, who was the most moderate option available for voters. So while the conservative side has been able to put people in Congress don't expect them to take the White House any time soon.

Really your ire shouldn't be against Republicans, but rather, social conservatives. It just so happens that all social conservatives are Republican.

Masking themselves yes, yet it should be easy to notice a somewhat different attitude towards other races when around them. Do you ever jointly hang out with others outside your race, or do you think its just those that are black?

Not really a confession, more like a question.

Why do women wear high heels? Why do they put themselves through the torture of wearing high heels for hours on end? (They also make too much noise, if you ask me). I just don't understand it.

I know this was like a few pages back, but I just have to insert my opinion.

I wear them because, as everyone on AP knows, I have this extreme need to flaunt my feminine side. And heels are one of the perfect ways that I find for myself to do that. I think there is a certain air of lady-like mannerisms that comes with strutting around in heels and I find any excuse to wear them if I can. Hell, I've done some yoga in heels before. (As a demonstration a children's theatre class. I wasn't like "HEY I THINK I'LL DO DOWNWARD FACING DOG RIGHT NOW".) Put me in high heels, some lipstick and a full skirt and I'm just as happy as I can be.

Plus they make my butt look go so yeah

I feel like I'm backtracking in quality rather than improving. There was a point, during one of my better heights, where I felt happy that I was, ya know... acting like an adult and stuff. But now I feel like lately, all I've been saying and doing has been stupid shit. I know I'm capable of carrying on an intelligent conversation and maintaining an air of maturity but either I haven't been caring or I'm simply incapable of socializing properly like I thought I could.

Doesn't help that I can't seem to ever find the right words in critical situations. I could be saving myself a lot of grief but I only ever make things worse.

It's weird, when I hang out with black friends he seems very sociable and nice, albeit he's a shy guy overall but there was a this one instance when one of my black friends were saying ''what's up nigga?' to each other Then he came to us and said what's up which he replied naively ''Hey nigger''(mistakenly using the derogatory. version of the word) which they got offended(then thanks to me they realized it was not meant to offend, but then they one of them grabbed him and then said something to the effect of ''that's our word, ya got that? you call me dude or whatever white folks are calling each these days.'' Then he let him, and wow did he look pissed...

Also fuck being limited to words because of your skin. Treating him differently like that is itself kinda racist wouldn't you agree? I mean saying "whatever you white folk say" is tearing the two apart merely because of race....

...which kind of sounds exactly like the same issues a few other people are having here.

Lol I can imagine the look of confusion on peoples faces if I went around trying the same shit.

You know I don't want to go down the long old debate of nigger and nigga. I personally don't feel comfortable with either, but that's just more down to my preference in slang. But that aside its ok for the later to be used between mates, and not just mates of the same skin.

I suppose the only comparison I could make would be the difference between me and a few of my LGBT friends using words like "fag" or "tranny" than if anyone else were to use those words. I'm not sure if this is a trend with the youth here today Miami and nowhere else, but the word is so common that anyone that grew up with a street lisp uses it (and there's all kinds of street lisps/talk actually). It's usually used in place of "man". I would not use the word myself since I'm personally uncomfortable saying it, and won't do so to make some kind of statement.
