I am a strident manga reader and stuff like the character songs seems completely alien to me. I propose that only people raised and used to the anime (even if alongside the manga) would think those character songs are fitting. To me they're as unfitting as a lot of fanfiction ideas.

And silly and fruity are extremely different things.

I don't really see the songs hurting OP. If it turns a profit in Japan, then they will continue to release them. Binks Sake and the Sogeking Song weren't awful. I won't by any means be purchasing a CD.

Binks Sake is homo? I will agree some of the other songs are sort of "odd" or corny but it isn't any worse than the horrible opening we got during Impel Down. Seriously it sounded or was a love song with Luffy yelling at Ace. If that didn't kill the anime community, I doubt Luffy singing will. Hey, he did it in Upper Yard (Sky Island.)

Like I stated, the song was posted just because the words matched the video.
NOTHING else. Now these songs are being targeted at those who watched the anime.
How many people who watch the anime in Japan are going to be turned off of OP because of these songs? Especially due to opening 12.

There are more examples, I just can't remember. It isn't like One Piece was a gore fest, cursing consistently, or having extreme adult situations all the time, and then out of nowhere fruity songs were created. You have to keep that in mind. It wasn't a GTA or MGS4 (MGS4 as amazing as the previous games) that out of the blue had some goofy songs written for it.
