Because the story is good, or is that not a possibility? It doesn't need tits and ass to make it any better, if it does for you, let me introduce you to porn, it is much better then still images of semi exposed breasts.

If you are only looking out for your friend or someone you don't know on the other side of the world who enjoys tits in a comic book, don't worry, he/they can voice his concerns himself.

I'm so tired of people bitching about the waistline of women in this series. It's his style. Of course its not supposed to be logically drawn. I love Oda's style more so than any other series other than Kentarou Miura who arguably has the most amount of detail in his work today

I understand the Japanese culture, but sexism in any way is bad regardless of what culture its from.
In South Africa one in every three men has admitted to rape, and 25% of women admit to have been raped. It's completely normal there with those high percentages. Does that mean its acceptable? No.
And I don't get this whole slutty clothes thing comes from. I've met plenty of Japanese girls from when I went to an international high school and they all dressed very well.

Real-life women usually have boobs, you know. And some of these infamous real-lifers even have big boobs. Well, let's hide 'em all away in the porn industry so that normal people don't have to look at their boobs.

If the One Piece chicks are intended to be humans, it would be weird not to draw them with boobs. And Nami has been a teenage girl for most of the story's course - if it isn't relatively normal for a teenage girl with boobs to show cleavage, I don't know what is. As long as the story doesn't switch focus and changes Luffy's dream to "I wanna be the person who have grabbed and seen Nami's boobs the most times", I genuinely don't see the problem.

I think what murderedboy means is that they shouldn't show that much fanservice, and seriously womens' breasts don't grow that much after 18 yet Nami grew even more.
The issue with Nami and Robin is that what they wear isn't appropriate to what they do. Short skirts and tank tops are not exactly what you should wear when you have to worry about fighting or scaling islands. Nami was even bitten by an insect that caused her to almost die because of this and yet she still wears revealing outfits.

(Then again, Luffy wears sandals everywhere and those aren't exactly fantastic either)

What I got out of this post is that Luffy's sandals are fanservice

But for me, I don't pay attention to it all consciously. Sure maybe I might notice bewbies but it almost seems uh normal and I look past the facts they have revealing clothes. You notice they don't go all revealing on winter islands so the fact they were skimpy clothes shows they are being relaxed.

Real life women also don't go wearing only a bra in their day-to-day life. Thank bro, I don't care how big their tits are, as long as they bother to cover up, unlike nami's expose past-timeskip.

They live on a ship and sail under the sun, I'm sure most women would like to be in bikini and get a tan if they lived like this.

Franky is running around wearing a thong and being a massive hunk of man

and people can still find a way to bitch about Nami wearing a bikini

If you think Franky is fanservice for girls you need a date cause you don't know anything about them.

The implication that Franky is some sexual bombshell wasn't my intention

If I have learned one thing from listening to women, it is that they have a multitude of tastes so you are right and wrong. Some women will find it attractive and others not.

MOST(keyword) men will almost always like the same traits in women, so it is easier to call them fanservice.

It's more that Franky is a big exaggerated character. In a big exaggerated series. It can be argued Franky is a cyborg so who cares what he's wearing, he doesn't really need clothes. But the idea that what Robin and Nami are wearing isn't really "appropriate" seems goofy to me.

I mean honestly, why not? It's still not offensive that he draws some women attractive and has them 'showing it off'. If Oda wants Nami to be a smoking babe, he can do that. If he wants her visuals to be "sexually servicing", go ahead. Maybe he has other reasons, but it's still a series with a demographic. And even then, he still does not reduce her to just that and has always included her as an actual character, with purpose.

I don't mean to say it would be bad if she wore something less ... "less", however, but that's just because I don't think it's too interesting looking.

Any actual issues OP might have to be targeted would be found in a lot more than just what the women are wearing, which is solely what my post is targeting. Like if you want to cover any potential real issues, Hancock's character could be seen as a starting place.

Hancock is still a disappointment to me in general. Mainly how she ended up with the Mero Fruit, but I already mentioned that way back during her introduction chapters at Amazon Lily. As the first major female pirate shown I honestly expected better than the type of character Hancock ended up being. However, at Marineford at least a little bit was shown of her prowess considering how easily Smoker and the Pacifistas were dealt with by her alleviated that somewhat. As a character Hancock is still crappy but at least she wasn't relegated to taking a backseat amongst the Shichibukai, unlike Bonney who ended up being the first of the Supernovas to be removed from the journey. Either way I'm hoping Big Mom doesn't disappoint whenever she's brought into the story.

The thing boiga mentioned about how women aren't given much visible damage physically during fights I agree with too, like during the fight against Oars at Thriller Bark. Out of everyone that was taken out prior to Nightmare Luffy arriving there really was no reason to have Robin be beaten by removing her shadow.

The manner of dress thing though I don't really see as a problem since in a story like One Piece, practicality with clothing shouldn't ever be brought as an issue regardless of sex. I mean we've seen Luffy climb a mountain in sandals and Nami jump buildings in high heels. Who cares.

This is incorrect. Boa is an awesome character for one. Also bonney wasn't the first super nova eliminated it was capone. Bonney also seems to serve a larger purpose if an admiral went after her himself. It seems she her story isn't finished yet.

Seeing as we don't know what actually happened to Capone you are wrong.

Boa is basically a comic relief character.

Very few will tell you that tiny legs, pompadours and speedos are attractive.
